So who if any could we see traded before the trade deadline? Doubtful much going on with us, but I would now take what ever we can get for Beathard, because we're gonna start needing some of those 53 man spots. Beathard for a 2020 5th would be fine by me to which ever team wants or needs a cheap cost controlled back up QB. We need to make a roster move before Sunday, because Kyle Nelson needs a 52 man spot. Technically Sanders took the spot of the LS we just cut. Nelson can play this weekend, but must be added to the 53 man roster, hence trading Beathard would open up that spot, while giving us a draft asset going forward.
I'm sure if they could get a 5th for CJ they would have taken it. Matthews will be released by Saturday the latest.
Agreed, that if we can't trade Beathard before the deadline, then Mathews makes the most sense to cut. Still would like Beathard traded though, because we should be getting at least 1 guy off IR this year, and will need a roster spot. No need in keeping that 3rd QB that is in active on gamedays on our 53 man roster.
Word was the Niners held a high asking price for Beathard or Mullens in the off season, thus why no deal was probably made. Need to get something for him, instead of potentially cutting him for nothing later.
We need to trade for a kicker! Does that even happen?
Technically the team still should have the roster exemption for Nelson returning from suspension, so no need to cut anyone AFAIK.

I was told by a trusted poster that pettis may be on the trade block.

Beathard is about the only one I could see being moved but not sure there is much of a market for him. Denver or Washington both have young qbs that will probably start seeing more playing time and other teams starters are getting healthy
I can't see us trading anyone.

What possible value would he have? 6th round pick?

we need some picks so i would take a 6th for him and cj
I really believed before the season, the team wanted to traded away Nick Mullens and asked for a mid round pick. The team knew no one was going to trade Beathard for a mid round pick. They might still see Beathard as a better QB long term (not this season), or easier to keep beyond next season. That was why they didn't want to announce who won the backup QB job until after the cuts. Had they traded Mullens, they could say Beathard won the job.

However, now that the team is undefeated, the team really want to keep Mullens for this season so the team can still compete if Jimmy G got injured. The question is, how much they can get to trade Mullens now compare to what they can get during the coming offseason. It is going to be easier to keep Beathard beyond next season. As such, unless they get a really good offer now (that they don't think they can get in the coming offseason), I don't anticipate them to trade Mullens.
