Yeah they have a good DL and defense overall. It's not at the level of ours though. No homer either lol.

We just need to sustain drives and somewhat contain McC

Ya think there's just a tiny little sliver of Cam Newton that wants the Niners to eat the Panthers young QB for dinner?

Playing at home helps our cause. Panthers have the most sacks in the NFL right now, but our defense collectively is better. I can see Sherman picking off Allen, I'd like for Eman to snatch one. Mccafferey is a great talent but he hasn't met this defense yet. Carolina might load the box but Breida is the highest rated player in yards per attempt in all of the nfl when teams load the box, not to mention jimmy now has sanders to throw to.

The whole sacks thing is without context imo. For example they've had 75 more pass rush attempts then SF this yr (and played TB 2x & the Texans). You have to actually have attempts to get high sack numbers. SF is shutting down offenses with 3 in outs.

They bring pressure with a lot of blitzes, while SF brings a ton of pressure with just 4 guys. Allen gonna have issues with that and 7 guys in coverage.

I didn't realize that, now your making me more confident that we get the win.

Same here!!!

If Moore gets behind our defense he's going to the house too. The Panthers are a very good team but we can beat them. Terrorize Allen, get turnovers, avoid turning the ball over, and like you said, sustain drives.

This is the game for me to see just where Jimmy Is. No more excuses, if he plays average to bad today, and no more saying he isn't a good QB if he performs good to great. As noted, the Panthers have a great pass rush, regardless how that do it or the competition( 49ers have faced similar opponents too), they have the ability to put a ton of pressure on the opposing QBs. Jimmy's best game to date is still against Jacksonville or Sacksonville two seasons ago. That was a team that put a lot of pressure on the opposing QBs as well and Jimmy, still mostly under the influence of Josh McDaniels, Belichick, and the Patriots training, really broke the Jags who hasn't been the same since. Unfortunately neither has Garoppolo who looked like he was well on his way to becoming the new face of the NFL QBs. Now fully acclimated into Kyle Shanahan's playbook, playing with more overall talent then he ever has, it's time for Jimmy to have a breakout game with the whole world watching against a good and dangerous team in the Carolina Panthers. Imo think today helps answers a lot of questions about Garoppolo and the 49ers today, good or bad.

It's sunny and back to Shanny love of speed this week

That weather was ridiculous a low scoring game was expected. People should have bet the under for sure lol.

Oh yeah, fans in here were still guessing 30+ for us going in. Good times.

Jimmy Garoppolo throws high sometimes. Be careful.

Sounds like home field advantage too me

Right? Welcome to Candlestick.

But that actually is a great point. If the wind is a factor, JG should be pretty used to it there.

24-13 SF.

One passing TD from Jimmy G (to Kittle), one rushing TD (Coleman), and a defensive TD (Kwon). Toss in a Gould FG.

McC will get a hard earned TD, river boat Ron will go for it on 4 down a couple plays and lose, they will snag two FGs.

Let's gooo!

You forgot about the 70 yard plus TD that Sanders is taking to the house!

Garoppolo hasn't had that issue since week 1.

That's because Jimmy Garoppolo hasn't thrown a pass since week 1.

I've been nailing my weekly predictions so far despite the backlash (bring it!)...lol...I'll give it another go here.

Keys to winning:
1. Stop the screen game
2. Get to Allen
3. Get up early
4. Generate an early turnover
5. Grind it out on the ground and don't stop
6. W9. DE's containment crucial today
7. Spy CM

Niners: 16
Panthers: 14

For whatever reason (matchups/philosophies), these games are always close.

You under sold Kyle's offensive acumen with only 16pts. The Panthers hasn't faced anyone of Kyle and Jimmy's caliber so far this year.

I'm going 20+ at halftime. 13 more 2nd half. 33 pts total for Shannyman

Oh no...another doubter of my predictions. I will be quoting this later. Kidding.

TBF, this is the one I'm struggling the most with on total points.

You were spot on last week NC with the single digit pts. Got help by the sloppy rain

Haha. I've been good on all my weekly pics. Don't quote me on that. LOL

But yeah, this one is kind of odd. Because of the defenses ability to generate pressure in a variety of ways, I'm guessing both teams rely heavily on the run here which burns TOP and puts the game in the teens come the 4Q. Kyle Nelson is back just in time! TE's are going to be huge on keeping those chains moving.

I like this prediction too. I've been toying all week going at 20+ myself.

I wonder if he will be wearing a 49er colored bonnet on the sidelines?

How come that is not what Kyle has been saying? He says they mainly rush 4 just like us.

Even if it is true they blitz a lot, it could be moot if they get home. Bottom line is this, their magic number is "27", their total number of sacks to date, 7 more than the 9ers as good as our pass rush is.

I am not saying their D overall is better than the 9ers, but that isn't the point. If Jimmy G is getting sacked, then it becomes a problem.

The Panthers is a very physical team, I predict this could be a very tough game for the 9ers, could be even more so than the Rams. I don't believe we match up well with them at all. Sure, our D is stout, but our offense is far from that. We have a bunch of small backs and WRs. The only truly physical weapons we have are: 1) Kittle and 2) Juice (who is injured).

To add, I am pretty sure they will be drawing on Eric Reid's beef with the 9ers as a major motivation factor on top of the price of beating the only undefeated team in the NFC.

As some analysts have predicted, for all we know, this could turn out to be a defensive face-off and a very low scoring game. Either way, I wouldn't underestimate the Panthers.

Let's just hope we can handle business. Let's go 9ers!!
