In the highly improbable scenario that every team in a division tied each other in the regular season and lost all of their other games, then a team would host a playoff game with a 0-10-6 record. I get the whole "If you win your division you earn the right to host a playoff game" in theory. However, there will be years (this year?) that a team who finishes with a .500 or worse record gets to host a team that is 12-4 or better. To me at minimum, you should have to finish with a winning record to host a game if the wildcard team in 12-4 or better.
Think about this for a minute: If the Niners and Seattle win their remaining games minus the game at the end of the season, then one team finishes 14-2 and the other 13-3. So it is possible that a 13-3 team travels to Dallas or Philly to face a team that is .500 or worse.
It has happened more than you think...hell the first time the Seahawks became relevant they snuck in with a 500 record and then made a bunch of noise in the playoffs.

We could be 10-1-1 still on top of the NFC right now but if IF was a FIFTH we'd all be drunk

How is it that when the Niners get good everyone else does too? Lol
It seems like the niners success was like a catalyst for Seattle getting Hot! At the right time. Now it's time for the Niners to use the same approach. Come from behind and be the Hottest team when it matters most.

Sounds about right...going into the playoffs well tested and rested off a bye (one seed)

We just got the hardest part (Baltimore) of the schedule out of the way. I think we'll win out and snatch that one seed from Seattle
The cawks have two tricky games coming up. The Lambs just know how to play them and they think they have a shot at a wildcard. It's in LA and time for revenge. Lambs know if they don't win this, they are pretty much eliminated
The Panthers game is all about pride for Carolina. The interim HC is going to try to prove something, the whole team gonna treat it like their playoff game. If they are healthy, they will win. Panthers know how to play dirty too. I see body bags
If they are limping when the Tards come to town, watch out, mini willow could wear them out...Tards will lose, but that will be like a playoff game for them because of the hate / rivalry (cawks shamed them in AZ), they'll compete
The target is more focused on them now. We won't be under the radar, but the media will be sucking them off for at least one more week...by the time week 17 comes, I think we'll go into their house and win convincingly (not a close game this time)

The playoffs have virtually started already in the NFC.
Niners and Seahawks both must win-out for the 1 seed, and the implications for the rematch in Seattle is going to be so huge I bet tv ratings will be historic.
These NFL schedule makers are pure genius.

Tough, but not as tough.
Double team Thomas and single the others. Pressure Brees. He isn't Kyler or Wilson. He is susceptible to the rush if the short routes are covered.

I wonder if anyone has mentioned that if we lose to the Falcons and the Seahawks and Minnesota wins out, we'd be the #6 seed at 12-4. Lol.

I will have to laugh if that happens because that is just insane...we'll all get the last and best laugh if we win it all anyhow
