The niners just need to take care of business and take the bull by the horns

No way Seattle loses the next two. They are too good. (Hope I'm wrong)
But I agree. Our boys gotta take care of business.

This. Seattle has already sacrificed their first borns to have opposing field goal kickers miss. The formula works and can travel anywhere, as long as this team can have some luck in the health department... no one, not even seattle will want to play them in the playoffs.

I think Seattle is a very good team who knows how to win close games, but I still can't believe how easily they should have 4 loses (2 in the division). Seattle should be competing for a wild card right now...

I'd be happy with them dropping one of the next 2...I think that's realistic.

Exactly.....that's why the idea that the Cards couldn't beat the Seahawks is ridiculous.

What does that make us , chopped liver??? C'mon San Diego.

Fascinating stuff.

Has there ever been two 13-3 or one 14-2 and a 13-3 in the same division ever in the history of the NFL, or at least in the Super Bowl era??

It's just crazy that this is actually happening. I find it hard to believe week 17 will be a battle of two 13-2 football teams......wouldn't matter who it was or which division.

Seahawks and 49ers finished 13-3 and 12-4 in 2013, but I don't think a division since 2002 has had two teams each finish 13-3 or better.
The title of this thread is racist. You should be put on time out.

True about 2013.

But don't forget in 2013, the Niners were 6-4 at one point before ripping off 6 straight while Seattle nearly lost the division lead after going up with a big lead.

To have two teams at 10-2 in same division is crazy. For them to enter week 17 both at 13-2 would be unlikely from a "it's never happened before" kinda view, even though both teams are more than capable and worthy it seems of being there.

The saints game will be just as tough

Tough, but not as tough.

Double team Thomas and single the others. Pressure Brees. He isn't Kyler or Wilson. He is susceptible to the rush if the short routes are covered.

And so is the Seahawks at C-Link. Plus, I don't expect the Seahawks to lose another game until week 17 for the big showdown. But, if can't beat the Saints, then nothing else matters.

All good points.... it'll be a "cakewalk" fellas

lol at cakewalk but the rest of your post made a lot of sense and i wouldn't doubt if it goes something similar to it
Really f**king glad we're getting off the East coast after this weekend, the winter flu bug is spreading around them parts.
Cowboys are down 10 in the 3rd vs the Bears.
We definitely have a race on our hands... need this win big time! Please d-line... beat the he!! out of breezy (well just sack and pressure him a bunch) and no turnovers... please!
One game at a time; take care of business.

Just did a quick analysis on what happens if we lose to Saints and then win out. And if Seattle wins out until last game and lose to us. We both will have 3 losses in that scenario and have to go to tie breaker for the division. Here's how I believe it it breaks down:

Head to head - Tie 1-1
Division games - Tie 1 loss each
Common Games - Tie both lost to Saints and Ravens.
Conference Games - Tie 2 losses each
Strength of victory - Currently tied at 12 wins for the two teams that are not the same on each other's schedule. Both wins by us and them. We need Packers and Redskins to keep winning. They need Eagles and Vikings to keep winning. That would suck if it came down to this.
Strength of Schedule - Currently tied. Same as above
Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed: We are dominating this category.

I don't think strength of victory will remain a tie. It would really suck if it came down to that tie breaker but likely would in this scenario. This is definitely a must win vs the Saints so there's no possibility of the above occurring. I'll be out there at the Dome on Sunday supporting the team! Hopefully the same thing doesn't occur as the last time I was there when we lost to the Ravens.

Please correct me if I'm wrong about any of the above.

Just ran the playoff machine on the ESPN site with best guesses of game results and with us losing to the Saints and winning the rest and Seattle winning the rest minus the final game, both teams finished 13-3 and they won the division.

...so Sherman was right early in the year when he said that every game is the championship.
