Yes we are.
Damn, thats bad. I just dont see us winning at Seattle, even if we do, It will easily be as bad or worse for injuries as the NO game and one week of rest doesnt do enough for us. I'd rather rest everyone and tough it out on the road in round 1 then hopefully go get a win in the second round, then just see what happens in the NFCCG.
This is the wrong approach. You need to play for the #1 or #2 seed, that's a much easier road to the SB.
So what happens if you lose at Seattle and leave with more critical injuries? How good are your chances the very next week on the road with even less players?
The coaches aren't gonna do this. So its useless to even speculate about it. They'll go in there with the starters, and yes, we'll probably get even more injured. Since thats what Carroll will do.

Nobody rests their players when they can still get the #1 or #2. Nobody.

Am I understanding this wrong ? If we win the next 2 games we're the #1 seed, right ? If we had won today we'd still have to beat Seattle. All we needed to do was win 2 of the last 3 games, as long as we beat Seattle.

If the 49ers lose saturday then you have to consider sitting starters.

We get a few players back before seattle. Resting starters when you're against your most hated rival and getting smoked before going on the road in the playoffs is stupid. Why would you take out the possibility of winning and show your team you're scared of your opponent?

Man, totally agree but at this point we just dont have the option of not trying to make some kind of adjustment to better our playoff chances.
I agree theres no way we will be sitting players, so even being in the playoffs, its not going to mean anything if we leave Seattle injured and not with the #1 seed.

No faith whatsoever we beat Seattle at Seattle that team has all the luck in the world even if we keep it close we still gonna end up losing the closing seconds of the game

Scared? Its nothing to do with being scared, its to have the healthiest roster when you play in the playoffs.

So from what I understand, if we win the next two games, we win the NFC west. If we lose next week and beat Seattle (assumingvSeattle wins next week), we tie head to head, we tie in division wins, we tie in conference wins. The next tie breaker is strength of victory, which is the combined win/loss percentage of the teams they have beaten.

not that I'm wishing for it but injuries go both ways. That's football.
We could leave week 17 limping into the wild card. Or by some weird play we catch Wilson rolling out of the pocket and mess up his ankles. Boom don't have to worry about Seattle anymore.
Hell no to resting starters.

Add to the fact we've only won 2 games out of the last 12 games at Century Link.
No faith whatsoever.

And showing your rival that it's ok to beat your ass right before the playoffs and kill your teams confidence. You can do that in madden but not in the pros. Momentum matters

If we lose next week and Seattle beats Zona... which odds are they will. it wont matter what happens in week 17. Seattle holds the final tie breaker.
