Time to go f**k up the seahawks.

Also, we are guaranteed to finish with a better record than either the Packers and Vikings since they play each other, so we can no longer drop to the 6th seed.

SF is locked into the 1st or 5th. 2nd, 3rd and 6th scenarios are out.

What if?

Vikes win out (means beating GB)
Pack win 1
We lose to the Seahawks.

All three of us at 12-4. Pack wins the tiebreaker for their division because of divisional record. That makes Vikes a wildcard.
Vikes have tiebreak over us because of common games (danged Falcons).

Don't we drop to #6? GOOOOOOO PACKERS!!!

You're right - I think that's the only scenario that puts SF at 6. Very unlikely to happen, but you never know.

I think that Mon. nite game Pack @ Minn is huge. I don't think it's far-fetched at all to think that Minn will beat Chicago at home, and the Packers will beat Detroit.

Of course it will be a whole lot better if we just beat Seattle. But if we don't, I'd rather go to Dallas for Week 1 than Green Bay.
If (when) Niners/SEA is the SNF game next week, the NFL better at least make the loser play on the last time slot on Sunday the WC round. But knowing the NFL, if that game is in Dallas, it will be the prime time Saturday game

Minn hasn't beaten a single good team all year. They're a close-but-no-cigar, last-minute-Cousins-comeback-falls-short-again team. So there's that.
With this win against the rams, the strength of victory tie breaker is no longer going to be a factor. We win against seattle, we are #1 seed, regardless of whether the Seahawks win or lose against the Tards tomorrow.

All a Seattle loss tomorrow would do is hurt their seeding (not the division), correct?

Pretty sure we still need to beat Seattle as they would have the tie breaker over us if we end with the same record with them beating us.

This scenario would make that loss to Atlanta so much more painful.

There is no SNF game final week of the season.

Correct. Which would still be good for SF, because it would decrease the chances of a playoff game aganst them being in SEA if SEA wins next week.

I believe he's wrong on #2. We haven't clinched the #5 spot yet. Pack beat Minn on Mon. and we do.

SF can also still be 2nd or 3rd if we tie SEA.
