Biggest individual surprise of the season

This is hard! A lot of players make a great case.

AA-Solid player time star
Both CBs opposite Sherman
Both backup OTs-esp Skul
Ward-both staying healthy and his play
Taart-see Ward
Interior OL-staying healthy and playing really well across the board after being seen as a huge weakness heading into the year

I can't make my mind up

Coleman, because he was coming off injury.

Jimmy Ward. Not only am I shocked that he is actually on the field but I am even more shocked by the quality of his play.

Maybe I should have excluded Alexander (we have extreme bad luck) and included Brunskill (lights out last night) and Sanders

The TEAM. There is no "individual" on a great team, and the fact we've been able to overcome injuries further proves how great of a TEAM we have.

2. Person
3. Armstead

The backup tackles not being completely horrible. By far the biggest surprise considering how bad the lines been for 10 years.

Yep - that was not expected - and Brunskill may even be better at RG. If he develops into a legit RG, McGlinchey could move to LG after next year if he improves his pass blocking another notch.

I voted Bosa because despite my large expectations of him he's already exceeded them.

really hard choice....

I expected Bosa was going to be the best pass rusher on the team...but i did not expect stuff that rivaled Reggie White.

I could be really wrong on this, but i also attribute a lot of other defenders success to the chaos he brings on defense.

I went from really lukewarm on Bosa not buying any of the hype, to something akin to "why the hell are you people not more hyped on Bosa".

So clearly for me...its Bosa.

Kyle Shanahan - offensive scheme change the first 8 weeks. Might even include Woods and Kocurek there on defense too.

Afraid i have to vote wth NC, as I expected a lot...but never anything like watching the wizard draw up plays. And also put me down for Kocurek and Woods. Equally , tho, will include NIckie B. Again i expected a lot, but that Panthers game, the sacks, chasing QB all over the field and then...the most remarkable INT of all time (that i have actually witnessed) ....just put it this way. I expected a tremendous amount, and he exceeded everything. Just mind blowing effort, results, attitude, stand up guy, and so far is DPOY. JimmyG is in there too, so i guess i can't pick one.

Another guy would be John Lynch. I was a huge fan when he was named GM. But again, just super exceeded all i could have wanted. The likelihood of us having a team like this in 3 yrs with all the bad luck, injuries, and still, look at the team they have given us. Nobody, nobody saw this coming.

The glory days were indescribable ...they were awesome. But after 20 yrs of abject misery, pulling for, praying for, hoping for...first a repeat...then just respectability...and really, all we got were false hopes. And then Kyle...John...JG...and we added a little here, a little there and then this yr. Bosa, Dee, Buck , Arik, KWON, and Kocurek and Woods. It all came together , just earlier than most thot.

Altho i picked the above, it is the team , the coaching, the attitudes, the individual players, the playing together, playing for one another. It is all that that is the biggest surprise of all.
