What I wanna know is, how many last undefeated teams since 2000 failed to make a Super Bowl?

Watching Jackson run the ball thru PATS D ...wow, don't recall a RB /QB that big, strong, and determined ever before. He just looks unstoppable, and is most dangerous when he seems penned up with a big rush. With wide 9s , it looks like he could run for 200+ yds. I hope we don't use wide 9s against him.

Agree that could be our hardest game altho it won't be a picnic against N.O nor SEA twice. Rams? Think we beat them. Kyle has mcVay's number, and their OL is about 60% as good as last yr. First game was not based on luck. N.O, SEA x2, and Ravens all look like the real deal. If we win half of those games we should feel like a job well done. Ravens DL? Looks a lot like ours once the ball is snapped, except it looks like they got 4 giants on the DL.

We have to factor in NO KWON. That alone is a huge blow. With KWON in, the passes across the middle....just became a non issue. We now once again have that hole. If we could manage 50% Ws of those 4 games, i'd be ecstatic. We gotta win one against SEA...but i hope for 2. Missing KWON is going to make these Ws a real challenge.

Very realistic view. It will really be tough to beat the Packers at home and then the Ravens and Saints on the road in consecutive weeks. Jackson looks like a bigger, faster Russell Wilson except he doesn't throw quite as well. If we lose a couple of games in that stretch it will be okay as long as we beat the Seahawks and win the division and hopefully end up with home field advantage.
EDIT: Messed up the math.

See Rabid below.

^^^ How do you get 11?

19 years (00 - 18). 7 lost in a Super Bowl appearance, 1 won the Super Bowl (8 Years). So, 11 of those years the last unbeaten did not reach the Super Bowl.

That's just math.

If "since 2000" includes 2000 there have been 19 super bowls with two teams in each, meaning 38 total Super Bowl appearances.

1 of 38 last unbeaten teams won the Super Bowl.

7 of 38 last unbeaten teams lost the Super Bowl

30 of 38 last unbeaten teams didn't make the Super Bowl.

Wouldn't there only be one last undefeated team per year?
Sorry I was trying to add it up and was like huh? lol

In that span, how many last undefeated teams didn't make the playoffs?

We don't have that data from the tweet above.
Tough road ahead. But you can't take away we are the only undefeated team. 8 and 0. So nice to have confidence is our team. They have a legit chance at making the Superbowl. And winning it. It's been a loooong time since we felt that was even remotely possible. But it is this year. And I'm not taking it for granted. Go NINERS!!

Meh, they lost to the listless Browns, the Browns didn't have KWON, so I'm not crowning them anything just yet.....

Props to Brady and Belichick for all they have accomplished during the years but in watching that game last night it was easy to be reminded of what a cakewalk they have had in their division for the last two decades. I mean apart from a brief run by the Jets under Mark Sanchez when was the last time any of the other teams in that division were any good? Its like the Patriots have been gifted with 6 wins a year during their run of success. My fondest wish would be for the 49ers and Patriots to meet up in the Super Bowl and see our pass rush eat Brady alive and leave him so bruised and battered that he would announce his retirement the next day. Again, all props to Brady for what he has done, he's a terrific QB, but Joe will always be number one in my book because he was just so much tougher and played in an era when guys could just tee off on you, yet he almost always managed to get back up and keep playing and usually stuck it to them in the end.
