Watching Jackson run the ball thru PATS D ...wow, don't recall a RB /QB that big, strong, and determined ever before. He just looks unstoppable, and is most dangerous when he seems penned up with a big rush. With wide 9s , it looks like he could run for 200+ yds. I hope we don't use wide 9s against him.

Agree that could be our hardest game altho it won't be a picnic against N.O nor SEA twice. Rams? Think we beat them. Kyle has mcVay's number, and their OL is about 60% as good as last yr. First game was not based on luck. N.O, SEA x2, and Ravens all look like the real deal. If we win half of those games we should feel like a job well done. Ravens DL? Looks a lot like ours once the ball is snapped, except it looks like they got 4 giants on the DL.

We have to factor in NO KWON. That alone is a huge blow. With KWON in, the passes across the middle....just became a non issue. We now once again have that hole. If we could manage 50% Ws of those 4 games, i'd be ecstatic. We gotta win one against SEA...but i hope for 2. Missing KWON is going to make these Ws a real challenge.

Very realistic view. It will really be tough to beat the Packers at home and then the Ravens and Saints on the road in consecutive weeks. Jackson looks like a bigger, faster Russell Wilson except he doesn't throw quite as well. If we lose a couple of games in that stretch it will be okay as long as we beat the Seahawks and win the division and hopefully end up with home field advantage.

Harbaugh. Greg Roman. Run heavy offense. Good defense. Dangerous dual-threat QB.

Sound like anybody we used to know?

Props to Brady and Belichick for all they have accomplished during the years but in watching that game last night it was easy to be reminded of what a cakewalk they have had in their division for the last two decades. I mean apart from a brief run by the Jets under Mark Sanchez when was the last time any of the other teams in that division were any good? Its like the Patriots have been gifted with 6 wins a year during their run of success. My fondest wish would be for the 49ers and Patriots to meet up in the Super Bowl and see our pass rush eat Brady alive and leave him so bruised and battered that he would announce his retirement the next day. Again, all props to Brady for what he has done, he's a terrific QB, but Joe will always be number one in my book because he was just so much tougher and played in an era when guys could just tee off on you, yet he almost always managed to get back up and keep playing and usually stuck it to them in the end.

5 wins/yr. in recent years. Shockingly enough, before this year the City of Miami has been their kryptonite for the last few years.

Yup ,it surely does. Difference is as athletic as Kap was, Russ W is 4x better than Kap ever could have been. Lamar Jackson...is just a bigger , stronger , kap, EXCEPT he went from early season looking like a Rook, to midseason and he makes a lot of great decisions. Doesn't even look like the same guy. Remarkable change in ability to see routes, throw it away, or throw it 90 yards, ( i bet he can) But his passes to receivers are now 4x better than when he broke in. Somebody good is coaching him, either harbaw or their QB coach. Interesting how his passes are all so wristy.

Another aspect is if tackled he just runs thru tackles. Kap was never known for that ...or Lamar runs right over LBs. I was no fan of his initially, just another big guy with a cannon who could run. But I was dead wrong about his talents. He got better across the board and did it in record time, 8 games. My hat is off to him. Brees will be tough. Rodgers tough. Russ Wilson, my guess is toughest of all, and Lamar is right behind him.

Worse, Russ is having his greatest yr of his career, with 15 TDs and 1 INT....crazy good. Also he makes the best decision virtually all the time. Has a lot of justifiable sentiment for MVP this yr.

Seriously in these 5 games, NO, GB, Ravens, SEA x2—- if we win 2, i would be stoked. And we HAVE TO win 1 for sure against SEA. If we ended up beating SEA twice and losing the other 3, i would be fine with that. Ain't gonna happen tho, so we gotta beat at least one of the other teams. These are serious teams, and wth no KWON, man, our opponents have a big edge in passing game. Hard to know how that factors into W/L but it sure does take some of the dew off our Lilly.

I was on Lamar from his junior year on as a whale of a talent. He was the QB I wanted to draft if we kept Chip Kelly as the HC (RPO). I didn't want him if we had a more traditional offensive mind coaching. Looks like I was mistaken in that. Lamar is 12-3 in the regular season as a starter, after taking over a 3-6 team under Flacco. That is superb. His fail was a dismal performance in San Diego last year in the playoffs.

Jackson is not a bigger, stronger Kap. Kap is 2 or 3 inches taller and 20 lbs heavier and has a stronger arm. What jackson has is more speed, better pocket awareness and much better escapability. Kap was fast once he got going but those long legs didn't help when he tried to maneuver around the pocket. One thing to keep in mind is how hard it was to defend Kap his first year or two. Let's see how long it takes before the league figures out Jackson.

3-13 tho.

I believe that Lamar reads defenses better and has become a better passer. The knock on him was always his accuracy, and you can tell he's worked on it a ton and gotten quite better at it. Kap was a far more explosive runner than Lamar is. Once Kap got into his full stride, he was a speed burner and few in the league could catch him.

I can't believe this wanker thought we'd lose to the Redskins.

Jackson didn't run at the combine but he says he has been clocked at 4.34. Kap was 4.53 at the combine. You're right that he may be just as fast once he gets out side and those long legs get going but Jackson is much quicker. That really helps when trying to escape the rush. Jackson does seem to read defenses better and he has improved his accuracy which was something Kap always struggled with. Jackson is more like Michael Vick and even he had limited success. Like so many of these fast QB's eventually they get hurt or the league finds a way to stop them. Wilson isn't really that fast. He just has great awareness and the ability to find the open receiver while he's scrambling.
The question now becomes, which team ends the streak?
