Overreaction. The players know they were down key teammates. They know they made too many mistakes. WR have to hold themselves accountable. OL must be better. All that and they still almost won. They played a subpar game and still were in it till the buzzer. They'll bounce back next week

This team is 8-1 and still the best record in NFC. 2014 our coach was getting shopped around before the first game. It's two completely different scenarios.

I don't see how this game crushes their souls and sends them spiraling. It's a s***y loss, but it's not like we didn't belong. It was an awesome game. We caught some breaks, they caught some breaks. Both defenses forced multiples TOs. In the end it came down to FG kickers. If this teams confidence rides on whether or not Chase Mcglofkin makes a kick, then they never belonged in the first place.

This isn't the playoffs. I was over the loss the second Meyers FG went through lol. The only thing that sucks about the loss is that it was Seattle, but the good thing is we will see them at least one more time this year.

We beat NYG in the 2011 reg season. We all know what happened in the playoffs.

Sports psychology. You never quite know how the players may react to a loss, let a lone a hugely emotional, embarrassing and devastating loss such as this.

You may want to ask Kyle, since he was the OC of the 2015 Atlanta Falcons. Started the season fast out of the gate, won 5 straight, then suffered a bad loss to the Saints and the team began to nosedive on a steep downward spiral. In the end, the Falcons ended up with a 8-8 season.

You're totally right, how are these guys going to get over losing by three points at the end of OT to a 7-2 team?

He wasnt the HC though, unless you think he called the defensive plays as well. And Matt Ryan was still learning the playbook.

Dan Quinn had as much fault if not more for that season and the following season in the SB loss.
We might have loss a close hard fought division game last night. But it was far from embarrassing. You win some, you lose some. Get back up and go at it again.

You know what the worst part is? They didn't even need to lose this game. We had the ball with 1:50 left and a fresh set of downs. It is physically impossible for anyone over the age of 16 to lose this game at that juncture. And yet our supposedly highly regarded "Offensive Genius" head coach panicked, lost all composure and more importantly lost track of the in-game situation. Kyle Shanahan basically handed the win over to Pete Carroll on a silver platter himself on his knees.

I'm impressed, the only other poster on here with the "level" of posts to match yours is KittleSkittle. Interesting.

Yes, you are right he wasn't the HC then, but the fact that he is now the HC made it even worse. Why? It was blatantly obvious he panicked and you could literally see it in his face. You thought Bill Belichick might have already taught him of what not to do, but hell no. He basically proceeded to go into a full Falcons Super Bowl meltdown mode yet again.

Lol watch the game. The film don't lie. Coleman was bottled up all game in the run game except that one long run.

Was bottled up ?? He had 4.5 yards a carry on only 9 attempts. He should have had more attempts

He had a total of 40 yards yes, you minus 22 yards from that one long run and he ends up 18 yards on 8 attempts, and that my friend is only 2.2 yards per attempt. I agreed he should have had more attempts but they were stacking the box and taking away the run game. You're making it sounded like everytime he touched the ball he was gaining 4.5 yards all the time, he didn't. We needed WR playmakers to make plays when needed to but we didn't have any.

Yes, he did, But, he has also won 6 Super Bowls. Kyle Shanahan is nowhere near that level yet. Subsequent to the Falcons' Super Bowl loss, he met up with Bill and Bill tried to explain to him what went wrong with his decision making. Shanahan needs to learn from these wiser heads. He is still a kid relatively speaking. May be he needs to have a long chat with his own dad.

Point being every coach has a bad game. Kyle has had a lot more good than bad
Need to get ready for screens and mis direction
