THEY'RE INJURED. The fact that they ARE DEEP is why we haven't had to sign any off the street scrubs!
Nothing to laugh at here. Our coaching staff knew what we were dealing with and should have made a move to pick up two veteran receivers before the trade deadline.
Fact of the matter is half of our receivers are pure finesse guys in Goodwin/Pettis and Bourne. Come play off time when it's time to put your big boy pants on, these guys won't deliver on a regular basis. The fact that we didn't make adjustments will come back to bite us.

Do we have the worst WR depth in the league?

yes, we were told we would carve them up with the run game. nor could we stop the run. gave up 90 yards to the back and well. we saw what wilson did at crunch time

Maybe we run so much because our receivers aren't good enough. Kyle playing to our strength.

Maybe, I think Deebo will be a good player for us.

i wonder if kyle thought after sanders went out. oh oh. we are f**ked. they stacked the box but we still did good things early. when our one legit wide out went out. we were f**ked. now we may be back to where we were before sanders with better teams coming up. seattle showed the blue print. in my opinion to everyone. including the next team up which almost beat us last time

SO, two starters and probably our #4.
We're running with our #3, #5 and #6.

It's clear that carving is likely OVER. Clowney has decided to show up and Reed is BACK.

Offseason positions only last through Week 3. Starting in Week 4 it is based on the current season records. 49ers were 32nd position when Gordon was waived.
Ah okay, good to know. Thank you.
Either way, we didn't put a claim in. The only team that did was the Seahawks.

To answer the question: Yes!!!
But IMHO there's a very fundamental reason why. Outside of Kendrick Bourne this is a WR corp picked by Shanny. I know this will be blasphemous to many fans here, but I think Shanny has over valued speed and undervalued physicality. One Dante Pettis is a prime example of that. I think that Shanny is the top offensive mind in the NFL. But he has filled the WR corp with slot-style WRs he has to struggle to scheme open, who aren't big and physical enough to beat physical man coverage, and last night's game was the negative effects of that philosophy on full display. All night the Seasucks sold out on the run, single-high safety, and play physical man coverage across the board because our WR's - with all our speed and route-running skill - aren't physical enough to intimidate nobody to get themselves open in a timely manner. Meanwhile, Jimmy G. faced 8 man boxes and was pressured ALL GAME! I mean, even when Shanny clearly had "man beaters" in the play our WR's still could not beat man coverage. As a coach that was hard to watch from NFL, professional WR's.
For me, the need for a physical big-body WR was so glaring last night. I was watching the game with a few guys I coach with and to a man (outside of myself) they all noticed how the lack of a physical big-body WR was so obviously effecting the team. I know this will be blasphemous to many fans here, but I do think Shanny has over valued speed and undervalued the need for a physical big-body who, in games like last night, can consistently get themselves open in the face of physical man coverage. Right now, we don't have that. So, we can expect every team left on our schedule will do exactly what the Cardinals and Seaducks did to us last night. We simply don't have the WR's who can force the defense out of man coverage.

Pretty obvious they will attempt to re-sign Sanders and roll with Deebo, Hurd.
Everything else is completely open. Shanahan wants to blow up that WR room so bad.
