Tough loss yesterday... nevertheless I'm still blessed, and have many good days to look forward to.

"many good days to look forward to"
Not in our team I hope.

The question is: is it a strength or a weakness on our team?
And to that I think the answer is pretty clearly, it's a weakness.
So they need to get better at the WR position. But it's not like they haven't been trying to address it. So essentially what we're saying is that their attempts have not been enough, and the front office and coaching staff need to do better when choosing and acquiring WRs.
At least.. that's what I'm saying.
Look at the Cowboys group of Cooper, Gallup, and Cobb. That's a nice group that was put together in the last two years. It can be done, but you have to make better choices.

But IMHO there's a very fundamental reason why. Outside of Kendrick Bourne this is a WR corp picked by Shanny. I know this will be blasphemous to many fans here, but I think Shanny has over valued speed and undervalued physicality. One Dante Pettis is a prime example of that. I think that Shanny is the top offensive mind in the NFL. But he has filled the WR corp with slot-style WRs he has to struggle to scheme open, who aren't big and physical enough to beat physical man coverage, and last night's game was the negative effects of that philosophy on full display. All night the Seasucks sold out on the run, single-high safety, and play physical man coverage across the board because our WR's - with all our speed and route-running skill - aren't physical enough to intimidate nobody to get themselves open in a timely manner. Meanwhile, Jimmy G. faced 8 man boxes and was pressured ALL GAME! I mean, even when Shanny clearly had "man beaters" in the play our WR's still could not beat man coverage. As a coach that was hard to watch from NFL, professional WR's.
For me, the need for a physical big-body WR was so glaring last night. I was watching the game with a few guys I coach with and to a man (outside of myself) they all noticed how the lack of a physical big-body WR was so obviously effecting the team. I know this will be blasphemous to many fans here, but I do think Shanny has over valued speed and undervalued the need for a physical big-body who, in games like last night, can consistently get themselves open in the face of physical man coverage. Right now, we don't have that. So, we can expect every team left on our schedule will do exactly what the Cardinals and Seaducks did to us last night. We simply don't have the WR's who can force the defense out of man coverage.

We could have drafted Gallup over Pettis...20/20 hindsight
Sadly I have been a supporter of Pettis but this year it's been tough to stay patient

He drafted him to get him the ball in space, jet-style plays, and reverses. Now, that don't mean that Deebo can't be an outside WR, just that Shanny isn't using him that way (I think he should use him on the outside more though). So you're right, we haven't seen his best yet.

Yes, Shanahan picked it.
No, he did not undervalue physicality. He picked Hurd for that very reason. He also kept Bourne for the same reason. He drafted Samuel for his physicality. All those guys are physical guys.
We haven't seen the best of Deebo yet but definitely seen enough flashes to see the potential is not far distant.
Bourne is physical but inconsistent catching the ball. That will put him off the team at some point.
Hurd certainly flashed in PS but we won't know until he gets healthy just what he can do.
Just have to get all the guys on the field at the same time.
Kendrick Bourne appears to have overtaken Dante Pettis for primary slot duties for the 49ers. Pettis didn't play a snap (4 SF WRs did) prior to Sanders' injury. Pettis then worked outside mostly and is apparently 5th on the depth chart
