It was only when the score was 18-21 and Kyle went back to the run game that Jimmy sorta settled down with the play action.
To be fair, though a pro WR should hold anything he gets to with both hands, Jimmy could put the ball in much more catchable positions. The Bourne deflection would have been a big play if the ball would have been on his body as it could have been.
That pass rush got to Jimmy. His passes were just a bit off, I agreed

I believe I saw a clip where on that deflection-INT, there was pressure from the back and a LB JG had to throw over. Given Bourne dropped others right in his hands and this pattern since the pre season, I'd say this is on Bourne 100%.
All you have to do is watch any other game and you'll throw up in your underwear at the kinds of catches WR's, TE's and RB's make for their QB's and how they make them look good.
Someone on Twitter had done the stats on if our receivers caught the catchable balls...something line 300+ yard game IIRC. Both QB's certainly had their lucky dropped INT's too.

I thought that INT by Bourne deflection was an excellent throw by Jimmy. I noticed at the time, Jimmy had to get it over the defender underneath and dropped it right to Bourne. But Bourne gonna do Bourne

Get out of here! Are you trying to tell me there are receivers who can actually catch the ball?

He got hit 4-5 times in the first drive. That seemed to rattle him a bit.

Lol my response exactly. Those numbers seem like fantasy. Look at Fitzgerald still doing it at 80 years old.
BTW at the Steeler's game I overhead a Steeler fan commenting to his buddy, "Wow, none of the Niner receivers can catch. They are terrible." I stopped myself from jumping in and defending them when I realized he was simply commenting on what he was seeing and not talking trash...and coming to grips with the fact that he was right.

Really sad that a guy who has not played a down in the regular season has much more trust from us than Goodwin, Pettis, and James.

Would you rather have a 57 YO Rice, 45 YO Owens, and a 57 YO Taylor starting at WR, or the current squad?

He would be an immediate upgrade over our decrepit WR core and would contribute immediately.
