Do we have the worst WR depth in the league?

2018 Pettis #2 & #3 (got extra 5th)
2019 Deebo/Hurd #2 & #3
2020 E. Sanders #3 & #4
Three consecutive years examining the top 4 rounds. Would typically involve 12 players. 12 of your top prospects. Well we spent 6 on WR. Not enough?

I've stated this before but I think receivers are harder than ever to evaluate in college. There are so many up tempo spread offenses and so few teams that have anything resembling a strong defense that you really can't judge them on their stats. The drills at the combine might actually tell more than game film. The NFL offenses are mostly a lot more sophisticated and the receivers have a ton of stuff to learn. Blocking is something that many of the top guys are never asked to do in college but it's an important part of their learning in the NFL. They also have to learn how to get separation when you can't just rely on speed like college. All you can do is keep trying until you come up with the right guy.

If we draft someone else or Hurd gets healthy and steps up then we let Bourne go.
I have no problem if they bring in Dez for a look but don't expect much. He's been out for 2 years and lost any speed he had so he can't separate any more. Returning to the NFL after being out for 2or more years is really tough since your body isn't used to the contact any more. It's like people saying Kap is better than some of the guys in the league now. Maybe he was but to much moss on him now.
Problem with that is that Dez became a rally killer with his guaranteed 2-3 key drops a game. Cowboy fans finally had enough of that. They were happy to see him go. The last thing we need is one more guy who drops passes. TO? No thanks.
As for AB in another post, he is on the "S" list with the league over not one but two potential abuse charges. Guess not him either.

I agree he probably has nothing left but it won't hurt to bring him in for look. If nothing else maybe it will light a fire under someone.

I think Dwelley was supposed to be positive for the passing game as well. Thats a bad drop to he and Pettis.

Very nervous for this cards game as they have played us well in SF for last few years.

I would try to work with James, Au jus and Dwelley, plus our RB, whoever it is. Have the other WRs out there but go to those guys and see how they do. This is a must game and make them earn their paychecks. Odds are AZ wont be worrying about those 3.
Also use the best two OTs who are ready for the game. If that is Brunskill and Skule, so be it. If McG is ready...well fine....but he has to be 100%or i wouldn't go with him. Based on practice this week, choose the best two .We already know Joe will be out.

Sander's is holding this average unit on his back. Deebo is an average rookie.
Goodwin might need to hang it up #SOON. Bourne is never injured but he's just average
Maybe replace Pettis with James and I wouldn't mind experimenting with Mostert out there too. Give Dez a call

He might be a better decoy than Goodwin or Pettis...those two made Seattle's average secondary look exceptional

The 49ers have spen draft capital at the WR position
— John Chapman (@JL_Chapman) November 16, 2019
Dante Pettis= 2018 2nd + 3rd to trade up
Deebo Samuel= 2019 2nd
Jalen Hurd= 2019 3rd
Emmanuel Sanders= 2020 3rd + 4th
Maybe if they all get healthy great things can happen but two 2nds and three 3rd rounders is a lot for WRs. pic.twitter.com/FDBSmQdFIr

Who the heck is Au Jus again. I see it all the time but keep forgetting.
