I love all the people that say Bourne needs to go. Who do we replace him with. Now that Sanders is out for who knows how long, Bourne is probably our best receiver after Deebo. I'm okay with moving on after the season but he's what we have for now. Pettis and Goodwin aren't the answer. I know Bourne dropped a couple of passes that he should have or could have caught but he was 4 for 8 with one TD so it wasn't all bad.

I'm more concerned with Jimmy's play. He needs to be more precise with his ball placement and timing. I say this after watching QB's every week make pinpoint throws into tight windows and throwing guys open which I haven't seen much from him. He's accurate on 10-20 yard throws but his accuracy really drops off when he has to throw deep. He easily could have had 2 more INT's if the Seahawks defenders hadn't dropped the balls. He looked really rattled by the pressure last night and had a hard time escaping the rush. Those 2 fumbles cost us the game since one was run in for a TD and the other set up a short TD. I know you can blame the O line for not protecting him but he needs to secure that ball. On one the ball was exposed away from his body so it was easy to knock it out. I'm still on board with him but he has a lot of room for improvement.

Damn its like the Arizona game didn't exist. Selective memory much?

And many other games. It cracks me up that people act like Jimmy G isnt top 10 in every QB stat that counts. I guess they would rather have a guy that tosses for 300 YPG, and has a much worse record.

They want Jameis Winston

I think we can put to bed the "Do the Niners have a home field advantage" question.

They obviously do. The fans showed up. The offense let them down.

So y'all think we going 8-8 now because of these "injuries" and losing last night. I tested you guys all week and you failed. I knew once we lost you all would go back to bashing everything niners. The injury analysis thread got bumped up. The jed York thread got bumped up. People are calling for shanny and Lynch's heads. I was right the whole time. Damn it feels good

I don't believe you.
ALL I'm hoping for is that our HC learns from this game..

He's a good play caller and does not need to go cute and make thing simple on obvious downs.

Personally, we lost the game because he called for that Shot Gun Inside Run play when we could have just given the ball to Mosterd on a simple in between the tackle run..

You put everything I was thinking in to words. I still am shell shocked. That was about as horrible as you can get for a Niner fan. And that's saying a lot for how long we've sucked. Either this sinks them or makes them stronger. I can't even think straight to have a guess on which it's going to be.

Nothing close to that, but it wasnt great either.

Worse than Tomsula, Erickson, and Kelly? Hardly. Lol

We expected to lose during those times. It's a lot different when you fully expect to win and have a plethora of opportunities to do it in one game but repeatedly shoot yourself in the foot on the way to an eventual loss in the final seconds. The emotional anguish from that is far worse in that moment than watching a bad team get the sh** beat out of them, lol. When we knew we had virtually no chance and had become numb to losing, it was whatever. Now we know what we're capable of, and to lose in that kind of fashion against the most hated rival in the NFL, that's a terrible terrible feeling.

Sure, it could be worse. But in the moment at least, it never feels that way for some. We'll get over it a bit if we come into Sunday and smash the Cardinals -- or you know, just win.
We think differently then. For me it's worse when you get your ass kicked in by halftime. To know the team doesn't even belong on the same field as the opponent and there was no hope watching the offense/defense flounder around. "Why am I watching this?", is what I always wondered during those days. Nothing about it was entertaining, which is why we should be watching - to be entertained.

Actually, I think I'd rather rephrase. I don't actually think I want to say one or the other is really "worse" -- they're both equally awful but in different ways and for a variety of different reasons.

It's short term versus long term. In the losing seasons, it's that overwhelming sense of helpless despair you're dealing with, and that lasts for as long as the team is a bottom-feeder, and it's pure torture even through the off-season as all you can do is hope. So, it's long-term anguish.

What happened last night was one of the worst kinds of short-term emotional anguish. So, yeah, absolutely awful, but in a different way. It's something you can at least put away with a win the next week.

Thank you. I'm not sure why me saying that was horrible last night was so wrong. I get all the variables of that game. But it personally made me feel horrible. If it didn't make someone feel horrible, then I envy them.

I'm talking about this bashing everybody does here making it seem like we're gonna lose every game now. That's all I heard yesterday and today.

I don't see anyone calling for Shanahan's head. Anyone gloating about the loss is OUT.
Damn I'm still pissed today and OTC you nailed it on the head! Me and my bros were shocked especially by Shanys play calling even after Sanders went down. The thing that really infuriated me was the OT play calling and not going for it on that 4th down and short. Why put it on the rookie kicker and then allow Wilson to get the ball back with enough time for a FG. Like what you said, Should have a called a running play there somewhere or go for it on that 4th down. They wouldn't have enough time in the end. OL and WR were atrocious and Jimmy G was mediocre because of that. Need to work on game management so this one is on Shanahan.

Our receivers and tackles were so poor it was pathetic. On some of the plays they showed, you could see no one open too so not only can they not catch, they can't get open.
Sucks about what happened but if they can learn from it and move on, great. Get the wake up call now rather than at the end of the season when they need to be peaking. Now they can forget about the undefeated label.

I thought that the play calling sucked at times. That was probably my biggest surprise.

I couldn't believe the times that Wilson was able to scramble because of poor containment.

Lots of good things, too. Like others have said they still almost won.
