The injury analysis thread got bumped up. The jed York thread got bumped up. People are calling for shanny and Lynch's heads. I was right the whole time. Damn it feels good

What are you talking about?

He's saying he wanted the niners to lose so he could feel good

I don't see anyone calling for Shanahan's head. Anyone gloating about the loss is OUT.

He's trolling...
And ontheclock, I agree with your post. A lot of good points. It was an extremely frustrating loss.
I really want our next game to come up quick to get over this crap we saw.
Last night was frustrating but a lot of fun. We lost and some fans need to learn how to own it, wear it and move on. This team played their hearts out and despite the OL being a sieve, receivers playing hot potato and a number of boneheaded mistakes we were in it until the end. I love this team!

Agree. The post is the emotional side of our reactions, hence the term "furious fan" in the thread name. But, at the same time, the cooler-headed reaction should be discussed too. Sometimes you need to vent and have valid reasons to. This was one of those times.
Clowney and Wilson beat Bosa and Garapallo.
Everything else about our 2 teams was a wash.
Thanks to you OnTheClock ! Your post seems to sum it up pretty well for many of us.
i would particularly point Kyle Shanahan for this loss.
why ? Because he took decisions that ultimately hurt this team,
And BTW it doesn't help when you see how well prepared was our defense that almost won it for us with 2nd and 3rd stringers...
Here is the misjudgements i pointed :
- passing scheme : Jimmy G plays at his best when he can zip the ball quickly on short routes and doesn't overthink too much when pressured (that is why i think his signature game remains the win vs the jaguars), otherwise his throwing mechanics make me very nervous because it's flawed and that is the thoughest thing to correct for a QB. It was critical that KS used these as he was constantly pressured. Of course it doesn't help that most of our WR cannot separate or worse drop the ball... And maybe it's me but i didnt see enough play action passes
- running scheme : those linemen are best when they move not when they have to move people. As a group, they're just not physical enough. so when you call repeatedly during the game and during our last drive TWO RUNS up the middle (where we were constantly stopped during the game) on 2nd & 3nd down with 2 yards to go, you find yourself asking a kicker signed of the streets to make a second pressured kick in a row. For me that is all on KS and NOT on the kicker. Hey the guy was 3/3 in regulation ! Kudos to him he made us stay in the game
- were staley and McG really fit ? They didnt pass the test from the first drive to the last. Disappointing KS didn't do anything about it scheme wise. Well he tried by keeping his RB behing the line to clean both tackle mistakes but it wasn't efficient
- HC game decision : as much as i can understand they sit on the ball at the end of the first half, it puzzles me he didnt run on 2nd down with 1:40 left in OT the seacows had no TO left. A tie was way better than a loss.
so very disappointed with Kyle but i think he'll learn and we'll be better come playoffs time

i said particularly but i must also mention Jimmy G. I am worried. The pattern is : he misses way too many easy throws, he throws dumbed balls to WR that have NO separation (almost) leading to INT's and he cannot make a difference between situation where he must protect the ball and take the sack, or throw it out of bounds (leading to fumbles).

finally, if we want to win the SB we must stay healthy certainly on offense as i dont trust Jimmy G to lead us. He'll mess it up à la Matt Ryan...

He's a good play caller and does not need to go cute and make thing simple on obvious downs.

Personally, we lost the game because he called for that Shot Gun Inside Run play when we could have just given the ball to Mosterd on a simple in between the tackle run..

We lost the game b/c we missed a 47 yard FG. One we made earlier that game too.

IT was unfair to put the kid on that situation.

The 3rd down play (Shot Gun Inside Run) was the UNDOING in my opinion.. Mostert was running well, and suddenly, Shanny got cute (again) and went on a shot gun and run it..

HAD he just stayed on our Power I Formation, Mostert would have had a better chance picking up the 1st down as we keep getting closer to the FG.

I'm talking about this bashing everybody does here making it seem like we're gonna lose every game now. That's all I heard yesterday and today.

But what do you mean you tested us? I've seen you post that multiple times, what are you trying to say?

If you want a prize for predicting a handful of fans will overreact to the first loss, well I think thl summed that up nicely above with the cookie
I sometimes lurk the Niners reddit page.

My goodness does it make me appreciate this place. The takes are so bad and the logic is at best high school level analysis. Just unintelligent homer drivel.

Hopefully this site never shuts down. I love you all.

LOL

That wide left FG In overtime how do you get a job now with that on your resume
The 49ers streak ended on 11/11, in many cultures 11 is seen as an unlucky number, or even a number representing death, loss, or karma debt. In Japanese culture, the 11th day of the 11th month is the unluckiest day for successful groups of individuals.

This loss was a wonderful loss, we paid a karma debt back for being undefeated, this means lots of good luck down the final stretch, or even the playoffs.
