I love all the people that say Bourne needs to go. Who do we replace him with. Now that Sanders is out for who knows how long, Bourne is probably our best receiver after Deebo. I'm okay with moving on after the season but he's what we have for now. Pettis and Goodwin aren't the answer. I know Bourne dropped a couple of passes that he should have or could have caught but he was 4 for 8 with one TD so it wasn't all bad.

I'm more concerned with Jimmy's play. He needs to be more precise with his ball placement and timing. I say this after watching QB's every week make pinpoint throws into tight windows and throwing guys open which I haven't seen much from him. He's accurate on 10-20 yard throws but his accuracy really drops off when he has to throw deep. He easily could have had 2 more INT's if the Seahawks defenders hadn't dropped the balls. He looked really rattled by the pressure last night and had a hard time escaping the rush. Those 2 fumbles cost us the game since one was run in for a TD and the other set up a short TD. I know you can blame the O line for not protecting him but he needs to secure that ball. On one the ball was exposed away from his body so it was easy to knock it out. I'm still on board with him but he has a lot of room for improvement.
One game. That's all. Obviously, everyone wanted to win against Seattle but there you are. We weren't going 19-0, no way. So I was waiting for the loss.

The injuries are piling up, and those who have returned are rusty and need a bit of time.

The receivers, without Kittle and Sanders are terrible except for Deebo. And he can't do it on his own. I didn't expect to go all the way this year and maybe you sins either. There are still a few gaps and we have seen them here!

Playcalling left something to be desired, not sure why.

There were several moments when it looked as though the refs were working towards making sure the last unbeaten team in the NFL lost its unbeaten record.

It is quite possible, though, that this will be something of a wake up call. I imagine that Shanahan will be using it as such and will not intend to lose to Seattle twice in one season.

Long story short, there were many ways that this result could have been reversed. Seattle were incredibly lucky. This was one, clearly, that we were fated to lose. We will be back.

This
A few injuries early in the season and the team was able to compensate. Now add in two rusty OT's, without Kittle, Witherspoon and Alexander plus Sanders and all the others who went out last night , mix in a slew of drops and missed opportunities and it still took the birds the final minutes of overtime to win. In the years past, the 49ers would have been blown out. Progress isn't always painless.
With a healthier team, no way they lose even as poorly as they played.
Though I was angry last night, looking back, they could have won. Couldn't say that in the past.
I know ... whoopee a moral victory.

Not gonna overreact, but I warned y'all this was coming when the 49ers struggled against Kyler Murray. The defense has a problem with running quarterbacks. Obviously the returning Ol players were rusty. Losing Kittle and Gould was devastating, there was no coming back from that.

All defenses have trouble with a QB like Wilson. He escapes the rush and makes big plays every week.

So were the Niners.

They were a Buckner TD away from potentially getting routed. And Jimmy wanted to give the game away in the two minute drill so badly.

Seems like the Niners were equally lucky just to get that thing to OT.

I think the humble pie from this game is good. I think the tackles will knock the rust off and rebound. The running game should get back on track. Defense again did their thing. Hopefully Gould gets healthy since the rookie couldn't handle the pressure of the moment. I am very concerned about our receivers though. We are headed down a similar path like 2011 (correct me if I'm wrong) where we were a Super Bowl caliber team but we had no receivers other then VD. Yes we have Kittle and Sanders (both get healthy soon) but these other dudes (exception Deebo and maybe James) are playing like Brett Swain and Kyle Williams. I'm praying Hurd can be reactivated and give us something (perhaps a redzone threat if nothing else). I think we need to look at Crabtree. Probably the best free agent option out there with pretty solid hands and decent routes.

Absolutely agree. The Seahawks only barely won because of 1) insane plays our defense had to make all night (Tartt strip at the 2, Buckner TD, Greenlaw miraculous finger-tip INT), and 2) Unluckily not capitalizing on all the other chances for turnovers (1 INT called back on penalty and 4 other near interceptions throughout the game that were dropped, including one in the red zone). I mean, without any of those plays from us and them making any other those plays on defense, we lose this game easy.

grop outplayed the anointed league mvp wilson who fumbled and threw the game away in OT, but don't say that out loud because jimg isn't ready and wilson does no wrong
Just want the morons in this forum who claimed we don't need a WR1 to come forward.

I've heard that Shanahan is always thinking and planning for plays further ahead in the game.
Do you think he was scheming and setting up for next game and that backfired on him? Kept it too basic to get them later in December or the playoffs?
Playoffs? Playoffs?

If we are going to start calling things lucky.....

How often do you see a defensive holding call away from the play negate an int?

When was the last time you saw a ball stolen at the 2 yard line?

the 49ers were CRAZY lucky to even be in that game.
I always thought Levis Stadium is Richard Sherman's home field. Turns out it is the Seahawks' home field.

and seattle was a volleyed borne int from getting throttled, and a key 4th quarter borne drop form an iced game, and a clear 3rd down conversion called short in OT for a more manageable FG. can't see how any fan watching that game can be upset by anything except for:

1. bourne
2. not running the ball on 1st down in final possession of OT. The run was working with mostert so you pick up a couple 1st downs with 2nd/3rd and manageable completions and kick it, or the clock runs out to a tie. win/tie situation there.
