Oh, what about that awful f*ck1ng Spot on 3rd down??!!!! That incorrect spot alone probably cost us the game.

I think Kyle had a putrid game plan drawn up. Without Kittle, he needed to do a much better job of scheming against Seattle knowing that they were going to take away the run. We never kept Seattle off balance and the play calling was pure vanilla. The offensive genius took the night off.

Yes there are a myriad of other things to discuss about last nights win but this point tops my list.

Must admit I had "Metcalf Envy" last night and now fear that we've been exposed as a pure finesse team.

Finesse is a good word for this offense. Kittle is really the only tough guy on the offense side

I'd put Deebo and Juice in there too

The loss sucked but not going to overreact.

We loss because:
oline played like crap (mostly Staley and McGlinchey)
WRs were inconsistent
Jimmy G played like crap

But you know what? If we improved on just one of those reasons we would have won the game. Hell we would have won anyways if it weren't for the missed field goal. Previous years we would have been blown out if all those things happened in 1 game. This year they happen and we barely lose. A loss is a loss no matter how you look at it but we aren't going to win them all. Lets get those areas cleaned in time for the playoffs.
The Seahawks have a tough schedule too so don't everyone think they're gonna waltz to the NFC West and first round bye.

-Russ Wilson: we make that kick, we're talking about how RW actually choked that game away...he had two costly turnovers in the 4th and in OT.

-One Loss: this isn't as big because we won 8 straight. Could mean something down the road but...

-we need to move on: Gotta have that "on to Cincinnati" mindset. Let's take care of business with AZ

-Health: this is what's important. If we are healthy at the end of the season, I believe we can go real deep in the playoffs even if we start from a WildCard position.

Let's not overreact...it's one loss, our only one at the moment. The only thing telling of this game is that, we aren't the same team without our key players...no team is. And our Defense doesn't give up...the DK Metcalf right before halftime was an example.

OP said it was an "utterly embarrassing" night for us. I strongly disagree. That game could've been, but we
battled all night....nothing embarrassing about that at all.

Bang Bang NinerGang!

Is E-40 making a "theme song" for us a jinx? Look what he did to the Warriors!

* Nine drops combined between Bourne, Deebo, Goodwin, Pettis, and Juice. I found that utterly embarrassing.

* Staley and McGlinchey both got run over and/or walked back into the pocket with ease, among every other way to get beat. I found that utterly embarrassing.

* Garoppolo was sacked 5 times, threw 1 INT called back on penatly and two other near INTs in crunch time. Could also argue the throw Bourne should've caught was not a good pass either. He threw multiple passes off target either too far out in front, in the dirt, or way over their heads all night. He also tried to do too much and got strip sacked twice, including giving up a scoop and score. I find all of that to be utterly embarrassing.

* Breida led the team with 10 carries on the night, and had a putrid 1.8 yds/carry average. I found that utterly embarrassing.

* Shanahan was content to let the clock run out at the half, despite having a timeout and the ball at the 25 with plenty of time to drive for a FG, and knowing the Hawks would get it in the 2nd half. When the Hawks called a timeout, we decided to kneel it down and pack it in like pansies, which sucked the air out of the stadium it felt. Fans booed as we walked off the field, and we made it look like we were scared and weak. He later went for it on 4th and 2.5 yards instead of kicking a FG that the guy clearly had the leg for. Third, instead of managing the clock properly late in OT, Shanahan dialed up three consecutive passes that instead of it being a "either we win or no one does" situation, it flipped it and gave Seattle that opportunity instead. I find all that utterly embarrassing.

Our defense played a heck of a game, but outside of that, it was an embarrassing effort offensively and coaching-wise. I feel like all of the above evidence supports that notion.

Those are all unfortunate events and happen all the time around the league..the other team consists of professionals as well. This isn't Alabama vs UC Davis.
What would be utterly embarrassing about it is if we were blown out OR if we were 0-8 coming into the game and this happened.

And even despite all this, we as a team, still could've won it.

2-14 is embarrassing, throwing 3 consecutive INTs and one for a pick 6 is embarrassing.
Hiring my Plumber as the new 49ers head coach and him giving a horrendous press conference and farting during a conference is utterly embarrassing!

If this is utterly embarrassing to you...what the heck is your expectations!?

Teams do not drop 9 passes on a weekly basis, my man. Teams do not frequently give up 5+ sacks and countless hits to one of the worst pass-rushing teams in the NFL. Good teams do not play "not to lose". I'd say the majority of coaches don't go for it on 4th and 2 when you're in FG range and it's unnecessary to be getting greedy. Our team this year is not embarrassing, but it's my opinion that the performance of the above units was at that level on Monday.

Will have to agree to disagree on this one.

It does happen frequently, not to the same team my dude.
Seahawks gave up bout 5 sacks didn't they? Or close to it. RW threw an untimely pick in OT when they were in the red zone. If our performance is embarrassing than the Seahawks were as well and the difference is 3 points. So then last night would be an embarrassing game all around.

We played a tough game my guy, not an embarrassing one.

Not sure what being physical has to do with catching the ball when you are wide open and hits you dead in the hands.

We need WRs who are consistent in catching the ball. They can be 5'9 and weigh 150lbs for all I care.

That's why it's so embarrassing. Seattle did barely anything on their own to win. We did it almost all to ourselves. We boast a top 5 pass rush. They have a bottom five pass rush. Seattle's line is missing it's starting center too. Our excuse is Joe and McG were rusty. If they weren't ready, they shouldn't have been in there. You can't honestly tell me that Staley getting bulldozed flat on his back and then whiffing entirely multiple times yesterday were another short of embarrassing, man.

Our defense made some spectacularly clutch plays, but the offensive crew and HC decisions were the worst I've seen in years. I can't recall that last time a 49ers team dropped 9 passes in a game.

huh, he completed key passes to bourne that would have changed the game...even when boune singled handedly volleyed the game away, JG drove the field multiple times in clutch situations to give the team a chance to win.

wilson threw a pick while in FG range in OT... JG drove down for the win...what game were you watching?

I know right? For all intents and purposes Russell Wilson lost the game for them with a horrible red zone interception. It's funny people aren't talking about that more but like I've always said against good defenses Russell Wilson is not good.

Jimmy almost threw 3 picks on the last drive alone

Yeah, I hate losing to the Hawks as much as anyone, but come on, there is no way anyone can seriously believe that JimmyG outplayed Wilson in this game. I believe JimmyG was panicked because out O-Line played the worst game of the year so far, but let's give credit where it is due…..Hawks beat us....it was a very close game, and I believe we'll get to return the favor in week 17 if we get healthy, but let's keep it real....they won a very close game. We NEED to shore up the O-Line or we are going to lose a few more games......hopefully our returning tackles were just rusty but if not, get the scrubs back in there.....they played way better that what I saw last night.

They capitalized on our turnovers. Which is exactly what we have been doing all year to other teams.

They deserved to win.

Well yes and no. They tend to spin it by saying we don't need a #1. We just need someone competent. Unfortunately, even finding a "competent receiver" for this FO is very hard for them

He's probably referring to me who said Kittle was our #1 WR/target.
The only silver lining I can come up with from this is that it happened now instead of right before the end of the season where we're left frantically trying to fix things.
