Nothing close to that, but it wasnt great either.
Worse than Tomsula, Erickson, and Kelly? Hardly. Lol

One thing I should have added to my last post is that I agree about whether or not it was the best decision bring Staley and McGlinchey back right away after the job that Brunskill and Skule had been doing. Might have been better to give then another week of practice to make sure their conditioning and timing were back and keep the continuity of the line that has been playing pretty well in their absence. They still could have been on the sidelines ready to go if needed, after all they are starters for a reason, but sometimes maybe it is better not to mess with a good thing.

We expected to lose during those times. It's a lot different when you fully expect to win and have a plethora of opportunities to do it in one game but repeatedly shoot yourself in the foot on the way to an eventual loss in the final seconds. The emotional anguish from that is far worse in that moment than watching a bad team get the sh** beat out of them, lol. When we knew we had virtually no chance and had become numb to losing, it was whatever. Now we know what we're capable of, and to lose in that kind of fashion against the most hated rival in the NFL, that's a terrible terrible feeling.
Sure, it could be worse. But in the moment at least, it never feels that way for some. We'll get over it a bit if we come into Sunday and smash the Cardinals -- or you know, just win.

Humble pie is good at this point.
Also don't forget, it could always be worse, the Saints just lost at home to a 1 win rival team.
Exactly. Just stings more cuz it's the 'Cawks and the jheri-curl sporting midget.

I know Bourne dropped a couple of passes that he should have or could have caught but he was 4 for 8 with one TD so it wasn't all bad.
I'm more concerned with Jimmy's play. He needs to be more precise with his ball placement and timing. I say this after watching QB's every week make pinpoint throws into tight windows and throwing guys open which I haven't seen much from him. He's accurate on 10-20 yard throws but his accuracy really drops off when he has to throw deep. He easily could have had 2 more INT's if the Seahawks defenders hadn't dropped the balls. He looked really rattled by the pressure last night and had a hard time escaping the rush. Those 2 fumbles cost us the game since one was run in for a TD and the other set up a short TD. I know you can blame the O line for not protecting him but he needs to secure that ball. On one the ball was exposed away from his body so it was easy to knock it out. I'm still on board with him but he has a lot of room for improvement.
Damn its like the Arizona game didn't exist. Selective memory much?

At least this game maybe puts the MVP talk down some. He was in position to win it and threw a pick in OT. They won because of their kicker being better than our kicker.

And many other games. It cracks me up that people act like Jimmy G isnt top 10 in every QB stat that counts. I guess they would rather have a guy that tosses for 300 YPG, and has a much worse record.

Actually, I think I'd rather rephrase. I don't actually think I want to say one or the other is really "worse" -- they're both equally awful but in different ways and for a variety of different reasons.
It's short term versus long term. In the losing seasons, it's that overwhelming sense of helpless despair you're dealing with, and that lasts for as long as the team is a bottom-feeder, and it's pure torture even through the off-season as all you can do is hope. So, it's long-term anguish.
What happened last night was one of the worst kinds of short-term emotional anguish. So, yeah, absolutely awful, but in a different way. It's something you can at least put away with a win the next week.

That may be a part of it, however, I am not willing to lay that all on the scheme. I believe Kyle set up his game plan assuming Staley and McGlinchey would play up to their normal level. When they didn't, everything went

Do we have a Juggs machine at the facility ? Or was it removed because it could injure the fragile hands of our receiving team, or maybe it was removed because the name juggs is politically incorrect ?
Please turn on the electric football throwing machine for our receivers !!!

That one was terrible, and I even thought the spot after Tartt caused the fumble was awful. He initially took it from Metcalf, and had control, but DK stripped it again and that ball was loose going into the end zone. I couldn't believe they didn't call it a touchback. Maybe my understanding of the rule is wrong.
Either way, refs sucked for both teams. Before the game, I told my buddy that I thought the Niners would wreck Seattle as long as we didn't kill ourselves, and I don't feel any different than I did before the game.
Niners had ample opportunity to completely blow the doors off that team, but when those opportunities came up the offense sh*t the bed, and Seattle made us pay like they always do. I don't know that I have ever seen Staley get abused like he did last night. McGlinchey may have been worse than that. Drop after drop after drop from the receivers. Even as good as Deebo was most of the game, he had a huge drop late. Just brutal from the entire offense.
So now we have seen two divisional rivals have some success by stacking the box and daring the Niners to throw. You can bet that teams are going to keep using that strategy until the O can make them pay for it consistently. I guess it is better to find this out now than in the playoffs.
I agree with everything you said. Honestly, the fact we played that bad and had so much go against us that wouldn't normally and to take them to the wire is at least encouraging to me. They play just average and we win against a very good team.
