Use them in the passing game. From the couple games I've watched of GB their DL is aggressive and likes to get upfield fast, so we can use screens to the backs and TE to counter them. We missed out on a Rodgers vs. Jimmy duel last season, and now we're going to get it.
oh we had a good game with them, that was the game when the dc thought it would be a nice idea to allow the packers to use the sidelines as they had no time outs left to march down and score.

Oh I remember. I was so furious about that. Yelling at the TV about the most obvious thing that you cant allow in late game situations. Also, we had the game won on a Buckner sack of Rodgers except for a penalty on Sherm.

So I guess the media is gonna pick against the 9ers the next three weeks.

Let them. As a fan, I get more nervous when they pick us to blow someone out.

It makes Sherman's post game pressers more interesting, too.

Wilson up the middle will be different than Breida or Coleman which will be nice. But also... please name an OC that can successfully and consistently scheme a running game against 8, 9 and sometimes 10 (if its double TE's with a FB) defenders in the box. Thats two extra defenders more than blockers. These are NFL defenses, technically no team should be able to run against that. Thats why Kittle is so important, he shrugs off defenders trying to jam him at the line and has the speed to force a LB and Safety to have to account for him on every play or else its a TD. He's also a beast of a blocker and often throws defenders into other defenders trying to pursue.

Had the receivers made the catches they should have against Seattle, the game wouldnt of even been close and I think you would of seen a completely different game plan from AZ's defense. But they didnt and AZ didnt have to give the passing game any respect. If Deebo and Sanders keep winning their 1 on 1s and Kittle punishes teams that choose to keep a single high safety... the run game will flourish again. But until that happens the run game is gonna continue to struggle which is to be expected. Another 400 yard 4TD game from JG and you'll see the run game open right up.
As underwhelming as Goodwin has been there year, he schooled the Packers on several plays last year with Beathard slinging the ball. With Sanders and Deebo hurting, he'll be the first one to get playing time after Bourne. He needs to step up and catch the F'ING BALL.

These Green Bay and New Orleans games are wayyyyy more important than the Baltimore game.

In fact, if we had to lose only one game the rest of the year....the BEST one to drop would be vs. Baltimore. AFC losses simply don't carry the same weight.

The Falcons game is a more important game than the Ravens game. I understand the desire to win against top level competition. But the Niners already know they can hang and beat anybody. And they may not play the Ravens again for 4 years.

So, while obviously the Ravens game is important for the W/L columns...it is distant in priority to virtually all other remaining games we play this year.

The scariest thing when it comes to Green Bay is their health... every single person on their 53 man roster is healthy and practiced this week. Dont think I've ever heard of that going into week 11. Our DL is going to be the key to winning this game, as it often is, but even more so with Rodgers picking apart any missed assignment.

One of the biggest differences this year vs the last few have been that when injuries happened - our rookies stepped up in a big way.

Notably Nick Bosa, Justin Skule and Deebo. In the last few years our rookies showed a lot of promise but wasn't really playing at a high level. Deebo has struggled at times but has gotten a lot better as the season has gone on, which is exactly what you want to see!

The punter has done well for himself as well.

Overall it's showing to be a pretty solid draft class.
If you can get 3-4 quality starts from one draft - that is excellent!

I had a fun back and forth with Raider fans on twitter the other day about their draft class lol.

GMFB said Oakland has the best rookie class in the NFL and I made a joke about how they should be taken out of the running for taking Ferrell at #4 instead of Burns/Allen.

I may have been trolling a bit but I think after what we saw in 2017 first year is tough to judge a rookie class. We thought that 2017 class was going to be legendary as we had Foster looking like a pro bowler, Spoon looking like a shut down corner, Taylor like Wes Welker, Colbert like Dashon Goldson, Breida and Bourne looking very good, DJ Jones with a lot of potential and Kittle showing very good things. Really the biggest question mark was Solly and everyone was still excited about his growth.

Now that class lost a LOT of shine.

However as it comes to our draft class this year...obviously as we've seen it's hard to say how guys go as their career moves along but I think we've got some great players out of this group.

As it looks right now we have 3 true starters in Bosa, Deebo and Wish.

Bosa is an elite player who makes others better around him.
It remains to be seen if Deebo can be a #1 WR but he's showing big growth and at the very least will be a great #2 for us. We've been a drop off from a promising rookie campaign with Pettis but I think we can all agree Deebo won't have the same issues.
Wish plays a position that isn't sexy so nobody is going to get hard over a punter but fact is he's a plug and play starter.

The other guys who started games
Greenlaw - putting him for now although he probably can be considered a starter since he was starting at Sam before Kwon's injury. He's a great kid who played his best game on Sunday and hopefully keeps growing from it.
Skule - definitely didn't look great Sunday but overall hard to complain about him filling in for Joe as a rookie. Maybe not the long term answer at LT but I think it's fair to say he exceeded all of our expectations.

IR guys
Hurd - I think we were all super excited to see his game in preseason and wanted to see him on the field. Damn shame that we may not get to see him out there this year because his size would definitely be a nice addition
Harris - not sure if he's going to be anything special but he's a 7th rounder so anything from him is a win.

We had 8 picks in this draft. We got one elite starter. 2 quality starters with potential to be pretty darn good and two guys who have started games and played well.

Our 3rd rounder was on IR and could not show what he can do in non preseason games.

Even if Skule doesn't end up being a starter I'd say getting 4 starters out of a single draft with one guy being elite is pretty damn good.

Time and injuries also play a part in a draft class' development. Take Taylor for example, after a couple of injuries, we've not seen him much - despite the fact that he is a talented WR. I mean Bosa's father was a first round pick and his career was cut short by an injury in (I belive) his second or third year in the NFL. Hurd, same thing, back injury - we haven't seen him play yet in the NFL. Tough to project age and injuries on a draft class, that's why it's so important to hit on as many as you can in any draft class and hope for the best. Even tougher when you draft an injured guy like Kentavius Street.

Of course they'll pick against us. Nobody will expect us to win against any of them, save GB probably. When we go to BAL, expect them to be at least a TD favorite, which would make it so much sweeter if we're able to pull it off. I also like it when they go against us.

I really wish Coleman was utilized more in the passing game as well. His hands and route running is the best among the RB group.

It's almost like Shanahan is intentionally not drawing up plays for him even when he came out and said Coleman offers alot in the pass game. Which makes me think he is saving it for the playoffs

Yeah agree, we need to get healthy for the playoffs. I don't mind losing a game here or there, in the next couple of games -- so long as we don't lose any more starters, and our injured players get healthy for the playoffs. I think Losing Blair, Staley, Kittle, dings to Emanuel, Ford and Deebo - we need to get these guys back as soon as possible for the playoffs. No need to be peaking now, when this team should be peaking by super bowl time.

I agree with your first paragraph however , what happened to the draws, misdirection plays, the off tackle and sweep runs. The shovel passes. There has to be something they can do.

But I definitely agree with your 2nd paragraph
Lehhss Goooo Niners!!

I think our D is stout enough across the board to be able to handle a less than elite game from the DL. If anything, on defense, our LBs are the key to victory. The Packers RBs have TWENTY combined TDs. Much of that production has come via the passing game. Elite stuff.

But our OL absolutely needs to step up. I can't see any chance at victory if McGlinchey and company play like they have the last two weeks.
