Don't blame Baltimore. Blame Jim Harbaugh and Colin Kaepernick, they're the ones that cost us that game. There is no other reason we shouldn't have been able to beat Baltimore that year.

And of those two I blame Harbaugh more than the guy making his 10th career start

Another reason I hate that team is that they ruined my Turkey day when they played (I'm pretty sure - but not 100% positive) on thanksgiving day and we go into Baltimore and they blitz the hell out of us. We got destroyed there. When Harbaugh left, we had to go through four years of hell until ShanaLynch got untracked. Then in the super bowl they got so many ref calls it was insane. None of our previous other 5 super bowls had such stupid reff calls, and that's why we won them.

P.S. I'm still pissed that we didn't get a three peat in 1990 too.

100%. We had far far more talent and as always, started the game by not even lining up properly. Ahf yet another slow start, ill prepared.

Meh, I don't blame Jim Harbaugh. I blame **John Harbaugh.** This guy is a very good coach. He's one of the best coaches under the Walsh tree. Him, Mike Shanahan, Holmgren, Fat Andy and Seifert. I'll add Cheat Carroll into that picture too.

You will never see a Suer Bowl losing team with a 300 yard passer, two 100 yard receivers and a 100 yard rusher. When the Ravens scored on the long touchdown to start the second half there were Raven players giving bear hugs to the 49er defenders in plain view, no call. On the safety near the end of the game the entire Ravens team was holding every Niner, again no call. The roughing the kicker call given a 5 yard penalty instead of an automatic first down. Flacco played the game of his life and they won one for RAY.
Lmao!

Our defense cost us.

So Ravens played Pat's, then 9ers, then Bills.

Gona have to give them props if they beat the top 3 defenses in the league.

Don't think they will but just saying.

Go 9ers!

They beat the Seahawks too, by 14.

They also scored 45 on the Rams when we only managed 20.

Yea and we beat Cleveland down while they lost. What's your point?

No. The 2012 49ers ruined their perfect super bowl record. They were not prepared to play that game and thats on them.

Hopefully we're practicing with wet balls too.

I mistakenly thought their stadium was artificial fieldturf but the surface is actually Tifway Bermuda grass. If it's a rainy game for the most part you would think it'll level the playing field somewhat and lessen Jackson's dangerousness. However the weather may affect anything they still want to run the hell out of the ball.

Their field was turf for a long time, but they went grass last year I think.

So we tie then?
The rams are a train wreck. Ignore that game.

once upon a time when we went to baltimore to play the ravens. it was raining and very nasty out. instead of practicing outdoors dennis erickson thought it nice if we just stayed in the hotel out of the elements. we predictably got our ass kicked. steve young did a interview saying had it been george or bill,. the niners would have been out practicing all day in that slop. I have no point to this other than we should be outside practicing and getting used to it. the weather is the same for both so it should not be an excuse, but there would be no excuse for us to stay indoors and i trust that will not happen in practice leading up sunday

Our defense cost us.

The myth that never dies. The team had the ball first and goal, down by four, with just enough time left on the clock that a touchdown wins it. What the defense had or hadn't done up to that point becomes immaterial. If the game had been a titanic defensive struggle with Baltimore leading 7 to 3 what the offense needed to accomplish under those circumstances would have been EXACTLY the same. Harbaugh and his hand picked QB couldn't get it done and that's on them.

Hopefully history won't repeat itself. Luckily we have a better coach now and a better QB. The defense has been playing well this year and we have better receiving options, assuming everyone is healthy, than the 2012 team did. Baltimore has had a nice stretch of games but, as I said in an earlier post, I am not ready to anoint Lamar Jackson as the second coming of anything until he's proven he can play his game with any kind of sustained success. Every few years a running QB comes along that everyone is convinced is going to fundamentally change the way the position is played but it is still the skinny, pocket aware guys like Montana and Brady who win all the Super Bowls. Go Niners!!
