Not sure why the whole world is sucking off Lamar Jackson.... Give me a freakin' break. Yes, the kid can run the football and has "madden" moves but so what? Cause his moves allow social media to nut all over themselves with memes? Haven't we seen this before with Kaep? Took the league by storm with his rushing attack but fundamentally not a passer of the football. Have you seen the WIDE open receivers he has? Remind you of anything? I remember when Kaep came in they were trying to stop him form Kaepernicking so badly our WR's were running free all over the place so he wouldnt score. Same s**t, league will figure it out.
I totally agree our D is geared towards a more traditional QB however, take away quick throws and dont lose contain we CAN win this game.
I hate the cross country travel, I hate having played Sunday NIGHT, i HATE HATE HATE the 10AM PST kickoff and hate that LJ8 is a mobile QB but again we can win. Ravens play tonight and hope its a brawl. They will have to fly back as well so we have the advantage of the extra day of rest. Just need to get to the ESTzone asap to acclimate. We run the football like we should, get Kittle and ES17 involved, i think we win.

I mean they are 9-2 themselves playing at home. A WC team travelling across the EC against a juggernaut that has blowing everyone out is how you become an underdog. To me being an underdog isn't crazy or anything. The spread may be a bit too much, but overall they should be the favorites.

That doesn't mean we can't win though.
I actually like the team being the underdogs. They'll play with a chip on their shoulders.
In response to the poster who is on my blocked list. A) The Chiefs/Colts games wasn't a Super Bowl being played by a team that in its long and storied history had never lost a Super Bowl it had appeared in. B) I'm a 49er fan why should I give a s**t about who wins a playoff game in the AFC, or why. C) Big games often come down to a series or even a single play. Preston Riley in 72 or whatever year that was, Kyle Williams muffing not one, but two punts in 2011. The team would be 11-0 this year if their substitute kicker hadn't shanked a last minute field goal attempt. Are there other factors that occur during the course of a game that will impact the outcome, of course. But in all of those instances I just mentioned the game turned on very specific moments. 49ers were first and goal with their offense on the field and a chance to win the game and they couldn't get it done. The defense simply wasn't part of the equation at that point. Championship teams win championships. I think we had a championship caliber team we just didn't have a championship caliber coach or a QB on the field with enough experience to make the difference. Just my opinion of course.
New year, new team, new coach. The more I read about how "unstoppable" Lamar Jackson is the more I am hoping that the 49ers will kick Baltimore's ass. It will be a tough game but at the moment I am leaning towards believing that the red and gold will come out on top assuming Kittle, Sanders, Breida, Ford and Jones are all good to go. Oddly enough I think a healthy Jones could be a real difference in this game, especially with the Ravens having to go with a rookie center. Go Niners!!
And of those two I blame Harbaugh more than the guy making his 10th career start
Yeah, except that was advantage Kaepernick. The more he played, the more teams learned what he Couldn't do and killed him for it. As for Kaepernick, he never improved. He played the same game he had in college, was totally uncoachable, and never improved on Any weakness. But that's just my stupid opinion.
So happy we're not a stupid team anymore for the first time since Walsh.
49ers locker room is as relaxed as I've ever seen it while bags are being packed for a road trip (buses leave in half an hour). Someone put Enrique Iglesias' "Hero" on the sound system and there was a lot of singing. Now it's Lady Gaga's "Shadow" with even more singing along
Nice work as always. You said the DE should take the QB every time. I agree, but I want to know why they don't just blast him on the read option every time, hand off or keep. I remember teams doing that to Kaep. Even if the RB gets a few extra yards, it seems like a good idea to rattle Jackson.
I see the dline by the 2nd game against Murray and the Cards had all eyes on the backfield. You have Defo and AA shedding blocks and ran to the outside to support containment. They were able to get to Murray a couple of times on the edge when Bosa looked like he needed help.
Will take all eyes on the prize. It won't be their first rodeo.
