Year and a half ago i mentioned kyle kept saleh because he wanted to be his own DC. And like BW and BB before him he wanted to know both O and D Football. Well Sunday tells you why when right now and for the last 4-5 days, Kyle has been scheming with Saleh over what kind of D to run . It will look the same, wide 9s but with 1 or 2 LBs just a foot or so behind the LOS and right in the center of the DL.
Tactics have pretty well been cited as hit the QB every play, with or with out the ball. Lamar will hold onto the ball late so hitting him won't be any infraction. Get good coverage outside , and then push up the middle ..or just hold it. These guys play tough football and that's what we should expect. Kyle is scheming in this too as he thinks out of the box. Saleh has had good luck with help from kocurek and woods, and hope their input is used by saleh/kyle. I think kyle's game plan is long in the can. So he is still working on scheming the D. What i hope is he and saleh agree if we are getting gashed somewhere, we fix it on the field, not at halftime.
It seems more than passing strange that we now are worried sick over the Raven O plan under greg Roman, the same OC under this harbaws brother that couldn't figure out how to get us 4 yards in 4 plays to win the SB . Roman was greatly disliked here as was harbaw in his later yrs, for not knowing any O. Jim knew NO O. Which also was ironic because he came here with the moniker QB whisperer. Well, we established quickly that is one thing he wasn't ...and that followed him to MICH also.
So that same OC, Roman, is scheming to beat us when just not that many yrs ago he couldn't;t scheme us 4 yds into the end zone with plenty of time on the clock...except he was on the opoosite team at that time.
When you think of kyle vs Roman or kyle vs harbaw , we have a huge advantage. Players? Well, we have the best D in the league and the best DL in the league. Kyle will be the answer to this game altho the blood ,sweat and lumps will be on the guys on the field. With 3 all pros on the DL 4th who may play, we also have starter rotational DTs to match Ravens run game. Our DL does its job, and the and the DBs will have to count only to 1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi, and the play should be over.
On O, kyle has already schemed what we will run/pass against the Ravens and i like him one heckuva lot better than Roman....or harbaw, tho John is lite yrs better than his younger bro. My hope is our guys stay healthy and focused, don't angle in on the D Ends, just contain and then take the ravens on right up the gut.
Close game and i sure like our guys, esp JG, Au jus, kittle, sanders, Deebo, Dwelley, our entire OL, all our RBs, and maybe a Richie James as a jet.. On D I just like everybody, esp if uninjured. I hope Dee gets in on Sun.. he would sure help. I like us in a squeaker.
