I disagree completely. People get lost in the razzle dazzle of their run game but Lamar is a perfectly capable passer. They aren't passing a lot because they don't have to. When you run for 300 yards, you don't need to pass it a lot but going back to his time at Louisville, Jackson has shown constant improvement as a passer and he's still getting "but he's just an athlete playing QB" treatment when the guy is decisive, has a lightning quick release and can put the ball on a dime down the field. The talking heads have zero credibility when it comes to Jackson considering how many were still derping about him needing to play WR or RB after his junior year in college where he showed massive improvement in passing the ball.

I've watched him pretty extensively and there is zero reason to question him as a passer. When they've needed him to make big throws, he's done so consistently. I think he's already a better passer than either Vick or Kaepernick ever were and he's only getting better.
That wasn't a rainy game in Washington lol that like playing football on the beach with your feet covered in water
Edge defenders simply need to be disciplined in their rushes. Bosa showed last game that you rush directly up field, then square off pinching both the RB/QB inside but that's where the IDL/RB's (maybe a spy) need to be VERY disciplined themselves and not leave massive inside lanes. If they do that, that blows up the running option and screws up the pass timing. Then it's all about crashing the pocket and making the tackle/sack. The good news is we've played this style a lot by now. The more they play it, the better they get (i.e. quick screen game).
Looks like the odds of rain has dropped dramatically. Super high humidity though.

Doing a little research on the Pats/Ravens game.

What stands out is TOP. Ravens had 37 min vs Pats 22 min.

Pats only ran the ball 17 times whereas the Ravens ran 41 times.

The game was virtually tied until the Ravens pulled away in the 4th quarter to win.

Pats only had 1 sack. Not sure how many hurries or QB hits.

Bottom line is we have to run the ball and keep LJ off the field as much as possible.

Key is to keep our defense fresh.

Yup the issue was they got up 17-0 pretty quickly. The Pats 1st 3 possessions were 3 and out.

That's the Ravens M.O score fast and get teams one dimensional. The Rams had no chance they're already one dimensional this yr.

SF NEEDS to score early. They need to control the TOP (like you said).
I believe Mark Ingraham is the emotional leader of that team. If we can stuff him in the run game I believe it will help our chances of winning greatly. We also gotta run the ball like we did weeks 1-3.

If you look back when we played Baltimore in the Superbowl, they kept hitting Kap after he would hand the ball off because he is considered a runner.

That neutralized the run/option

So hit that MF, whether has has the ball or not

6 pts bruh? come on now we might not win but their defense isn't that special

We will score more than 6. Jimmy G will throw like nuts trying to win, in the process he will most likely be forced into throwing 2 picks and he will probably manage 2 TDs and say we kick 2 FGs on top of that. So we may score around 20 max.

But, it doesn't matter, on both sides of the ball, our lines get owned. Their O-line is absolutely HUGE and on top of that they play 3 TEs who also happen to be huge too. So, that alone could prevent the pass rush from getting home, that is before we talk about Jackson's running ability.

Think of it this way, it would be kind of like playing against the 2012 9ers with Kap under center, only Lamar Jackson is at least 10 times better than Kap.

Either way, if I have to guess, they will throttle us. If we can manage to score say 20, I don't think they will score anything less than 35. Robert Saleh has not shown me he can effectively game-plan against mobile QBs. For traditional drop-back pocket passers no problem, but mobile QBs no. Furthermore, Lamar Jackson will be the best mobile QB we face to date.

When you are as good as the ravens at running the ball, you usually dominate the TOP. Also running over a defense is demoralizing and exhausting for them. The defense gets worn out very quickly. It's important that Jimmy doesn't have a third down performance like he did against Green Bay. He HAS to convert those.

I think the ravens O will put up 24-27 points.
So as long as we out score them and control TOP we will win. Oh and obviously no turnovers lol
I really think what we will need in this game is an early "punch in the mouth" - if we can. Like a ridiculously hard sack against Lamar or someone to just lay out Ingram (that's a tall task haha)

That will make them think and rattle them a little. Hopefully we can do that

But Baltimore will be just fine? FWIW Baltimore actually has drainage on their field.

the game was still rainy.

I hate to say it, are we about to not just lose but to get blown out by the Ravens?

The Ravens have now blown out just about everyone including:

Seahawks - 16-30
Patriots - 20-37
Texans - 7-41
Rams - 6-45

Then, you add to the fact that we can't defend against mobile QBs? Doesn't exactly bode well, does it?

Then on to the next opponent. Its a regular season game against an AFC opponent, so it doesn't define the season. Whatever the outcome, as long as the niners come out healthy for the stretch run and the playoffs.

I'm sure the field will be better than this.
