That same controlled mayhem approach that worked so well to contain Rodgers will also work again Jackson. When Jackson causes problems is when the DL gets pushed to the outside, leaving escape routes up the middle. It will be up to Buckner, Jones and whoever else lines up inside to make sure that does not happen.

Marshall Yanda is the best OG we will have faced this season. He can win one-on-one most of the time. Center Matt Skura appeared to suffer a significant knee injury last night. If he can't go, it may require the guards to give their UDFA rookie replacement more help. Good for us.

wow did I get that wrong. As of this morning....

Yep let everyone think Baltimore is going to roll over the 49ers. Let them all pick and bet against us.

Of course didn't Harbaugh call us the best team in the league?
Lehhss Goooo Niners!! I'm so pumped for this game!! Lehhss Goooo Niners!!

I never once labeled him that. I don't think he's the same caliber thrower that Murray or Wilson is. I don't see a ton of tight window throws, I see a lot of first read throws to open guys.

He's improved from last yr, but he's still a running QB that's what makes him special.

But I think the key will be to stop Mark Ingram more than Lamar Jackson. If you can stop their running game and stop your LB's and DE's from biting on the Read Option (which is easier said than done) you should take away 75% their offense. Also noticed in the Rams game that Jackson goes thru one to two reads at the most, then again their #1 option was open a lot on crossing routes.

As for the offense, just get back to running the ball effectively like they been doing through weeks one thru five and keep their damn offense OFF the field.

Agree with all of this

Sounds logical.

The ultimate test will be how the 49ers defense contain the Ravens rushing attack/RPO. This is the problem that the Patriots couldn't solve. If you watch the Patriots/Ravens game. The Pats where overwhelmed by Mark Ingram, so much that they had to commit to him, and then got gashed by Lamar's keepers on third downs.

No one knows what to do! So crazy.

we need AA to launch himself into jackson like he did rodgers. i love when players do that. great great effort

I was actually shocked that wasn't called a penalty for Mrs. Rodgers. Not saying it should have been, just that Rodgers usually gets calls like that.

I'm surprised it's not higher. I expected Baltimore -10.

We should know most of the nuances of Roman's offense and should have plenty of tape of it lying around the facility since he was our OC and ran the same scheme here. Granted he does have better players running that scheme now, I think because of our familiarity with it and our talent on defense we should be able to nullify all their advantage.

eh, the scheme they are running there is a good bit different than the HaRo Schembechler stuff.

I'm planning on diving into Ravens Film later on Thanksgiving(we live in Bama and all our family lives in OR and WA so it's a short, small family thanksgiving for us) and am going to be investigating this supposed Ravens offense. I still remember a lot of the stuff Roman did here so I'm interested to see what's different.

The question is, is Lamar that much superior to Murray or Wilson as an athlete? If not, we can contain him. While we weren't perfect against Murray, we still sacked him a bunch of times and Russ only got out a couple times. If you remember, until that INT, Seattle's offense hadn't done didly squat.

What number would make you bet on the 49ers?

Can't see that. Jackson's speed in on another level and most of his read option runs are to the outside. Rogers is basically a stationary target now unless he has lane wide open in front of him. I think a lot will be on Jones. They will double Buckner like they did with Donald last night. Fred and Greenlaw will have a tough task as well to contain him and run him down once he gets to the outside. Tartt and Ward will have to be able to come down hill full speed and stop him. No bad angles. We need our DE's to hold the point of attack on the outside and funnel things up the middle. . We do have to mention their o line which has been outstanding. If we can get a lead and force them to have to throw then i can agree with the bolded. We cant' let them get positive yards on 1st downs. Last night seem liked every one of his throws were in the middle of the field. nothing on the outside

So you see a Greg Roman offense. We've seen this crap before. This game we just have to do us with a chip on our shoulders. Be hella aggressive because I know what BAL is going to be about

Yes please! Love to know some of the best ways to defend their offense

The Ravens did some adjustments after this game and haven't looked back since. Hopefully Saleh has some sort of formula to stop Lamar.
