For the 49ers, don't let Baltimore march down the field for their first drive. Balts defense thrives on having a lead and not worrying about the opponents rushing offense. They have the least amount of RB carries against them during their win streak.

SF needs to score first. I'd like to see how they play when down two scores and he's forced to throw the ball. It's gonna have to happen at some pt.

Just a center? Dude that's one of the most important positions on offense. Their backup center is gonna need help to stop our DTs , which leaves one on ones on the outside or TE/RB forced to stay in and block.

No, it's one of the least important linemen. Skura was only average as well, I think he was scoring PFF of 63 this year (2 previous years were 53 and 54). It's not gonna be a huge difference.

Center was literally THE difference in our game against Seattle.

I can't wait to see this game because we have seen the defense against just about every type of QB you can think of, and Jackson is probably going to be the most unique, and definitely the most athletic.

That said, I think most would agree that Wilson is a better passer and scrambler at this point than LJ.

I would argue Murray is nearly as good at scrambling, but a better passer than LJ.

The Niners D wasn't perfect against either of those guys, but did give them fits, and both of them were visibly flustered at times. I think the D can do the same this week, but they need to tackle well. It's a tall task, but if they can do that and the offense can be efficient, I like our chances.

The bolded is a common mistake us fans make from the outside looking in.

Scrambling vs Read Option, apples and oranges.

Lamar doesn't even scramble. He actually moves in the pocket to make time for the throw. And when he's running, it's pure design.

Crock on his podcast talks about how overall he's not making difficult throws. Dudes are wide open. Like I said earlier about Jackson imo he's not at the level of wilson/Murray at throwing the ball. He's a running QB first and a passing qb second.

Thats what greg cosell was saying also, hes not an elite thrower. Take away his running, force him to go thru his progressions, make anticipation throws, make tight window throws, I bet you he'll have a tough time.
I live in Vegas and bet a lot on sports even though I'm a huge Niners fan. If you actually paid attention to the line movement, you would've realized the line opened up at 4.5 and then the Niners beat down the Packers and the line went immediately down to 3 1/2. Then that night the Ravens beat down the Rams and it shot back up to 6. Vegas is just covering themselves to take into account the money flows from all the syndicates and public money. Niners were always going to be a dog since they are on the road. If you anyone actually thought the Niners would be a slight favorite or a pick'em then you have no clue how betting lines work. I actually expect the sharp money to come in on the Niners this week. Niners can definitely win this game.

Totally agree. Plus the read option is the bread and butter that makes Lamar so dangerous. Skura played a huge role in letting those plays develop and without him, the Ravens will have their hands full against the Oregon Trees, and now they also have to deal with DJ Jones.

This injury could very well be what tips the scale towards a Niner road win.

Pls don't give the doubters, naysayers and the negative Nancies an excuse to use next week if we beat the Ravens this Sunday. "Oh because they didn't have their legendary center on the field." Lol.

Disagree...they help with protection calls and in a run heavy team like the Ravens continuity on the offense of line is massive.

Too say it's not gonna matter is silly

Much like the 2012 49ers, this BAL run game is so good that playaction buys the QB so much time to attack the intermediate areas. Saleh has a challenge on his hands and he needs to come up with something to defend that BAL run game. It's such a unique offense I think the 49er scout team offense will have a hard time emulating this BAL offense in practice.

Yup garland came in and got blown up the first play. That lead to a defense TD.
