Ive been posting this in this thread all week and No one can come up with an answer. Im clueless.. Theres plays ive seen all year where a DE will come in and just run in then stop and just contain from 3 yards away, and almost everytime lamar hands it off up the middle and the defender cant make a tackle on the RB anyways.. WHAT is the difference between that and hitting him every single time he holds that fake, and he hands it off to the RB anyways.. atleast this way Jackson and the Coaching staff will feel it everytime he gets hit and wont call it as much. HIT LAMAR JACKSON, No Not intentionally hurt but HIT him everytime he runs it.
This sounds good to me, but...When is it legal to hit him and when would refs be throwing a personal foul flag on us?
On RPO when he's deciding to keep the ball or hand it to Ingram, if he does decide to hand to Ingram the DE can still crush him...as they should.
Personally I think the best way to play this is have the DE play Jackson every single time and have the other 10 men focus on stopping Ingram or the pass.
If you make the DE make a choice he will inevitably hesitate and take himself out of the play and potentially give up 25 to Lamar.
