Hmm, nobody seemed to get upset or offended by so many draft prospect sites that only compared Nick Bosa to J.J. Watt....
But truthfully, this is nothing new. I still remember seeing a show on ESPN several years ago. It started talking about the racism and the stigma of "the black quarterback". How the perception was they had to be more athletic, because they could not read defenses as well and things like that. Oh how this was wrong wrong wrong! And then, in the very NEXT segment...they marvel at how well Jason Sehorn was playing at cornerback...because "white guys just aren't supposed to be able to move that fast". Gotta love the double standard!
And for the record, I think the 49ers suspending Ryan for this shows what a weak organization they are. Lost a ton of respect for them over this.
The suspension is par for the course though. Every sports organization in America would've done it, it just may not have come until a public outcry with certain teams. Its a BS suspension, but every corporation lives in crippling fear of being associated with PC nightmares, and will distance themselves from this stuff immediately to save face. Its a sad state that things have come to.

Yeah, Andy Dalton would have way too big of an advantage.

Don't forget Andy Dalton. That could be racist.

whether this is about race or not, it was in my opinion a stupid thing to say. I gained a ton of respect for the 49ers for seeing a wrong, correcting an employee, and not overacting by firing the guy for one stupid statement. i'll ride with a company like that any day.

If you had read the actual quote or listened to it, you would know that is not what he said....
so you're saying he didn't say Jackson skin tone made it hard to see the ball?

The crazy thing about his comments was that while I never thought about it before there is a slight advantage there, more so with the dark jersey than anything.
In a game of inches and split seconds if you can make a defender strain to see the ball for even a split second that could be all a guy like Jackson needs to get to the edge on someone.
I'm kind of surprised that no team has simply attacked Lamar on each option play. I get the reason we decided to attack the RBs and let Lamar beat us but if we see them again(I would certainly be cool with that) I wonder if we go in with a similar approach or if we turn our attention to Lamar and hope the DTs take care of the RBs if he keeps handing off.

This white dude is woke, apparently Tim's apology wasn't good enough for him.

I think the term for elusive or quick white football players is "sneaky athletic". I am sure I hear that anytime a black analyst describes a white athletic football player. The term doesn't bother me but there are a lot of double standards in america today and just figured I would throw this one out there.

By the way , have you guys saw the pictures on the home page of this forum that show Jackson carrying the ball. it looks like you can clearly see what is ball and what is skin.

Read his comment. "When Jackson makes a great fake it is because he is so dark".
No, that is not what Tim Ryan said.
"He's really good at that fake, Lamar Jackson, but when you consider his dark skin color with a dark football with a dark uniform, you could not see that thing," Ryan said on air. "I mean you literally could not see when he was in and out of the mesh point."
He was commenting on how hard it was to see the ball, not Jackson's ability. In fact, even said Jackson was GREAT at the fake. Tim Ryan is also a former NFL defensive linemen, so his comments are likely coming from a player perspective too, since he knows the view from the field. But simple minds and SJW's jump to conclusions and assumptions, instead of reading and understanding.

well, we should all know comments like that don't fly in this league or in this society anymore.
Even if he meant nothing personal by it, it's something that shouldn't be said out loud.
I hope he doesn't get fired.

There's a difference between comparing black qb's to black qb's or white wr's to white wr's than this. Truthfully who am I going to compare Julian Edelman to Wes Welker or Andre Johnson? Most of the time their are similarities because blacks have higher athletic potential.
But comparing skin tone to the color of a football is just needless at best.

That article is disgusting clickbait fake offendedness.
