That's silly. I have no problem saying oh you're looking for Brian well he's the black guy over there. No one should be offended that you can notice the color of their skin.

What's kind of offensive about this is the notion that Lamar's blackness is hiding the football. And it's not he's just good at it.

If you had read the actual quote or listened to it, you would know that is not what he said....

so you're saying he didn't say Jackson skin tone made it hard to see the ball?

Read his comment. "When Jackson makes a great fake it is because he is so dark".

No, that is not what Tim Ryan said.

"He's really good at that fake, Lamar Jackson, but when you consider his dark skin color with a dark football with a dark uniform, you could not see that thing," Ryan said on air. "I mean you literally could not see when he was in and out of the mesh point."

He was commenting on how hard it was to see the ball, not Jackson's ability. In fact, even said Jackson was GREAT at the fake. Tim Ryan is also a former NFL defensive linemen, so his comments are likely coming from a player perspective too, since he knows the view from the field. But simple minds and SJW's jump to conclusions and assumptions, instead of reading and understanding.

when you consider his dark skin color .... stupid

Stupid, yes.

Unnecessary, yes.

Racist, no.

agreed .... I already stated once in this forum I didn't think ryan was racist ... just made a stupid comment
He should have been suspended for longer. Why are we talking about race or skin color AT ALL during a football game. It was a ridiculous comment.

No...But if you say a white basketball player has an advantage passing the ball because of his whiteness ...then I'm going to scratch my head

"Sneaky athletic"

"Worked his way into an athlete." By working out hard in the gym. The implication being he can't be a great natural athlete. He is white. That's impossible. They say stuff like this all the time. Regularly on football and basketball broadcasts over the years. Both College and Pro.

And of course the flip side of that is that black players have it easy they don't have to work hard, they don't have to be smart, you don't have to be Gamers, because God gifted them with a physical advantage over white players.
This could also be a flip side of Tim Ryan's comments, because they take away from what Lamar Jackson is doing as an athlete, and a quarterback, and as a thinker, because in implies that he has a big advantage based on the color of his skin.

Anybody who isn't ghost white would have an advantage in that circumstance...pouring rain, wind, mist in your eye lashes, dark wet ball, dark jersey, great play-faker, split second decision for a moving DL, darker skin, etc. Hell, Jimmy Garoppolo could have had a similar advantage.

Yeah, burn him at the stake, lmao.

welcome to triggered America in 2019

and this comment speaks to how over reaction leads to people thinking there is no such thing.

It wasn't during the game, so I'm going to presume you don't know enough about the story to have a valid opinion yet.

They held the Ravens to their lowest point and yardage total for the year.
They played the Ravens defensively better than anyone else.

Well yeah...I mean that is why the comment is dumb, but also true and the crux of the argument. If it wasn't true, camouflage wouldn't exist for Christ sake, but it should go without saying because the idea that colors blend is some kindergarten s**t that we all implicitly understand.

Its a good thing he didnt go full on Earl Cambpell during the interview.

Earl Campell says Texas needs a Black QB

I totally agree. He didn't need to add in that detail but then again, he's talking to casual and uneducated fans from a DL perspective...not exactly the most observant people on the planet. Either way, as a white man in a public spotlight, you just can't go there, ever. He'll learn.

I guess it is how you interpret his comment. You seem to take it that Ryan was saying that was why the fske is good.

Because he talked sbout the mesh point
I take as you have wet dark jerseys, wet darker ball, dark wrist bands, and dark skin. And when that ball is in ingrams pocket with ingrams jersey behind and both arms over it, then you have jacksons hands on it.

You are seeing slivers of the ball, and there is very little contrast.
