I actually like Tim Ryan, he sounds like a genuine Niner fan during broadcasts. He was even jabbing with the Ravens fans heckling him in the stands.

He gives just enough level of analysis during the game to be interesting but not boring. He only goes stupid and goofy after the game on radio

That brown hands hide a football better? I'm not sure about that either way but I know it's a point you shouldn't try to make.

Fair. Agreed.

to say the niners couldn't see the ball because of Jackson's skin color is idiotic at best. when the great qb's like rogers make a great ball fake in the back field it is because of great skill and precision. when Jackson makes a great fake it is because he's so dark. unbelievable !!!!!

Well they are 2 different kind of fakes, because one is not a fake.

The QB option is not a fake, it is a choice for the QB. The RB is taking the ball, the QB chooses by what HEsees if he will let RB take it or not.

Also the reason why rodgers is so good at his play fakes, he puts the ball in the RBs pocket with 2 hands, pulls the ball out with his back hand and tucks it behind him. So he shows the bsll to the D, then they see his empty hsnd come out.

They are effective because they are great at it, and the team is great at it. How many times did you see lamar pull the ball, and ingram immediately turn and blow up the free rusher. Meanwhile when GB running game was terrible the great playfakes did not matter, because the D was not threatened by the run.

I feel for Jackson. MVP year and now he will have to answer questions for the rest of the year about Ryan's comments and how much his skin tone is a factor in his success (vs qb ability).

No he wont.

Hes one game away from setting the single season QB rushing record. Pretty sure that's all anyone will talk about outside if the ravens record.

No questions at all?

We shall see.

Tim Ryan found something else to talk about.
I have a sudden appreciation of Vidal Blue's carrer ......as easy as it was for hitters to see the ball coming out of his hand

It was a dumb thing to say, if factually accurate on the most basic level. It was also already a forgotten statement three days later when he was suspended, so seems like an overreaction by HR to me, but they would rather overreact now than risk (as minimal as that risk is) a bigger incident down the road where it looked like they covered up/ignored minor moments like this one.

I actually wonder if they made a bigger deal about it by suspending him and announcing it publicly.

Absolutely...zero doubt.

I didn't hear about it until he was suspended. There's no doubt that raised the public profile.

Agreed this is a non topic in like a week

And no one really gives a s**t about Tim Ryan. He's replaceable and this is a non topic as soon as football as played this week.

Always better to get in front of it early. The quote was starting to make its way around -- it was made on a local broadcast, so takes some time to spread. But it was probably only a day or two away from being on full blast nationally. Fox/Espn/CBS/NFLN live for things like this.

Niners did the right thing. Because, now, when it is inevitably discussed...they can discuss how the Niners took decisive action and not the "helloooooo Ninersssss WTFFFFFFFF..." Which obviously plays way worse.

That was specific to the game they played due to the rain.....but whatever

I thought it would be Eric Davis. Is he not with the Niners anymore...

Would be my first time listening to Dennis Brown.

Agreed and it's better for Ryan too. You pretend nothing occurred, it blows up and they may of had to can him. When it's a story because the org made it a story, let him apologize, then punished him for it. It will blow over in a day.

On first take they said his apology was weak.
