I feel for Jackson. MVP year and now he will have to answer questions for the rest of the year about Ryan's comments and how much his skin tone is a factor in his success (vs qb ability).

No he wont.

Agreed this is a non topic in like a week

I am sure he will be asked about it... but I disagree that we should feel sorry for Jackson because he will be so emotionally traumatized by these questions!

Some people just want to keep the racist narrative alive to keep the country divided.

So just to be clear, the reason this was bad was because Lamar is white? lol anyone who got offended by this is weak AF. Lamar is a great player and from what I see he seems to be a good person. People need to relax A LOT.

the reason it was bad because It was a stupid thing to say. so everybody who doesn't agree with everything you think or say is weak AF. That's BS. Lamar needs to get credit for being great with the football. not because his hand is black. by the way , I didn't get offended, it was just a stupid comment that got called out.

No. Not because his hand is black. Just on that day and in those very specific circumstances did it 'aid' to make it harder to pick up for a DL (deception). Any other circumstance or normal weather, it's not even an issue. It literally had nothing to do with his talent level at all. In fact, Tim said he's great at the mesh point/fake.

i'll disagree and say I just don't believe that was the case. none of our players came out and said because of his dark skin color the ball was harder to pick up. just a radio voice who wasn't even on the field. and the posters on here just take for a fact that ryan knew what the hell he was talking about. I watched the game and I wasn't thinking I can't see the ball because his skin is dark ..... that's just ridiculous

Agreed

I don't think the comment was appropriate because it's an absurd observation that could be made about 60ish percent of the NFL, and that was aggravated by the context of black quarterback reductivism, which remains a real issue. Just go read scouting reports for any given year's QB class.

However, I do think his apology (though not perfect) was sufficient and sincere. I'm not sure a game suspension is necessarily warranted either; having him on air right away again to re-iterate the apology would be meaningful, and cancel culture isn't really a valuable form of activism. There are awful things that people can say that should result in a time-out from work, but this was just dumb, not awful.

It's OK to disagree. But LOL if any player, black or white would ever admit that to media (hence his suspension).

Here's a thread on it.

Also, even if not true, like you said, he's a former DE speaking from that POV. A view you have no idea if true or not as you are not a player. It also sounded like from his original comments, it was more about how HE lost sight of the ball (as did camera crews) from up in the booth which 'could' translate to players on the field in even harder circumstances.
Anyways, moving on.

Lmao, you don't need this thread for that. It's easy to know......

1. Every white person is racist that is out to oppress every race and kill innocent people.

2. Every non white, is an oppressed victim by every white person everywhere.

White is evil racist, non white is oppressed and victimized no matter who or where they are.

Welcome to America 2019

can we just agree that the comment was stupid and leave race out of the equation. the narrative that you mention above is just plain nonsense. by the way, I don't believe that tim ryan is a racist. there are racist black folk and racist white folk all over this country. the comment was stupid. race had nothing to do with it.

This, I mean he was dumb for not considering the implication in his comment but debates like this go way back in regard to equipment color in tons of sports. Hockey goal tender pads, Jerseys that match the turf, it was only a matter of time before someone innocently or otherwise stepped into the skin color trap. I have decided to believe from the context and the reactions of several black friends and player/ pundit tweets that it was innocent enough in intent to just move on, but it doesn't change the fact that you have got to know better and a slap on the wrist suspension sets the right tone that " hey this isn't acceptable" but also we recognize that it was just a mistake and probably wont happen again.
We need Jimmy G to tan his hands hardcore

Our play action is too visible

That's silly. I have no problem saying oh you're looking for Brian well he's the black guy over there. No one should be offended that you can notice the color of their skin.

What's kind of offensive about this is the notion that Lamar's blackness is hiding the football. And it's not he's just good at it.

Actually and I apologize for framing it differently but i have no idea if her reaction was in response to the attempt. could have been her normal reaction

Hot as ballz though..rosalyn sanchez
