Then he gave an epiphany head knod my way and slouched back down. I responded back with a loud, "We getting some of that SEA luck!!". He quickly glanced my way and all I could do was have a huge grin on my face.

I keep seeing people talk about that play. Then when it's pointed out that PI rules for the gunner in that situation don't apply they go to the "well there was holding!"

I'm sorry but that was a punt play. How many times is that called holding on a punt? They basically ran together. There was no holding going on, maybe if it was a straight up pass play.

Payton was just pissed his stupid attempts to trick us didn't work.

Sick of it. When are the Saints going to do something about the ticket brokers? The entire sideline behind the 49ers bench was a sea of red. I may be in the minority but I am a season ticket holder from Tampa and I make about 6 home games a year and only will sell to Saints fans if I can't make it. It was embarrassing out there today.

That board is pure comedy right now.

The biggest crybaby fanbase in pro sports. The Saints didn't have a single penalty called against them in the first half despite 49ers DLs getting dragged to the ground right in front of the refs and Kittle being mugged again and again but yeah the refs caused you to lose rather than your garbage safeties, LBs and Eli Apple along with a turnover deep in your own territory.

They always act like they are owed something. The NFL gave that franchise their freebie Katrina SB, they need to get over themselves.

Failing early on the 2pt try to feed his ego. Going for the fake punt and asking for a holding call to bail out that stupid decision. And what the hell with the last timeout called...don't you usually saved that to ice the kicker at least.

Kyle out coached ego driven SP

Hearing that Payton went for the 2 point conversion only to show his dominance as a coach is absolutely perfect karma for that doucheb.

Great job coach...

There was absolutely no reason to go for two that early in the game and when it was about to happen, I wanted so badly for the decision to come back to haunt them, and it did. There was a personal foul on the Spoon headshot. Did NO take the penalty to go from the two yard line to the one, and that's why Payton decided to go for two? Because it's one yard closer? Then he called a pass play.

Whether its Harbaugh and Co or Shanahan, that dude seems obsessed with proving that he's the smartest guy in the room when it comes to playing against this team and he ends up blowing it for his team in the process.

Murray averaging almost 10 yards a carry up the middle? Lets ignore him completely and just sling it around, leaving 50+ seconds and 3 TOs for the 49ers to take it to your trash defense let again.

Right. If one thinks Jimmy G is not elite that is their prerogative.

They're 100% wrong if they think that, but they are entitled to hold onto their moronic opinions.

I'm a long-time, diehard 49er fan but I'm also one of the most objective fans I know and therefore I don't believe JG is elite yet considering he's in his first year with a playoff-bound team and he only has 20 starts under his belt. That's not a criticism it's just based on facts. IMO, elite is being top 5 qb year after year for many years not ONE year of great numbers. I'm sure JG can get there and he is playing great football right now but he still has some issues to work on like taking too many sacks and coughing up the ball before he gets placed in the "elite" category. I think that's reasonable and fair, anything more is pure homerism.

Yup, they took the penalty on the attempt half the distance. I think it was Nate Burleson on GMFB that said he heard Payton claim that he went for it there because he wanted to assert his dominance as a coach or something along those lines.

And yet...SP has the gall to cry after the fake punt about interference because he doesn't know the rules as well as our special teams player, be pissy after the game about the "officiating" (bro it was mostly homecookin) and then Brees says how it would have been nice to have Cook like we took him out Bountygate style? Dude it was clearly not headhunting and a borderline call IMO anyway. They whine so much.

49ers have gotten jobbed all year with officiating, schedule and injuries but they have not complained or made excuses, just handled business and embraced the challenges as a team. Its been cool to see.

you know i never blame refs.. but this is a very very very good post

What is reasonable and fair is entirely subjective.

There are QBs that were annointed as the next great thing with far fewer starts than Garoppolo.

What I see with him is a QB that is ascending, looking more comfortable and confident in this offense.

I don't think it is unreasonable to expect that progression to continue until the "Just make Garoppolo beat you with his arm" talking points are in the dustbin of history.

It was a great take over! So glad I was able to come and experience this. Definitely a memory I'll have for a life time.

I was there too! That was the game of a lifetime! Bourbon Street and the rest of the French Quarter was nothing but a sea of red, loved every minute of it!

I buy that (wanting to exert coaching dominance whatever). Kyle busted out the FB option, wildcat, end around WR throw. Kyle and Payton sure seemed like they each wanted to show off their gadget plays.

Saints fans are delusional and really despise the 49ers org. Lol. They think we were completely healthy and want a rematch at full strength. Lamo.

We apparently have a disgusting organization with players who like to cheap shot. Wasn't it the Saints who had money on hurting our players? Crying about the 80s and 2011. That combined with my hate for Shawn Peyton made this a satisfying win.

Big game against ATL boys. They will be tough. They always play us tough. Stay focused and fight through the injuries we need this win. Let's get it.

I was going through the gameday thread at saintreport.com. They were clamoring in the thread about how the refs were in it for the Niners, and no calls were going their way.

I was like lol wut ?!

They were talking mad s**te all week. Saying things like "come back after the game", "soon as we beat the whiners all of them will disappear", hilarious, if you're registered as a 9er fan you can't sign in, you're directed to another page.

I love how they're crying about the number of 9er fans in their city and dome.
Payton crying to the refs the entire game. Saints fans saying the refs cost them the game. I've got news for them this game was over with 6 minutes to play if not for that BS call on Sherman. Down by 9 and Solly had just sacked Brees to bring up 4th down. This was only a game late because the refs helped the Saints score 2 late TD's. It was going to be 4th and 5 and the same ref called PI on a pass that was 5 foot in front and 10 feet over the receivers head. The fix was in at the Bayou but what they couldn't fix was George Kittle.
