Just a thought. If Witherspoon had made that INT on Brees on their final drive it woulda been over and the theme of the week would have been 'Niners defense steps up when it mattered most'. Not that I mind what transpired after, but this game was way too close for comfort. I felt the Baltimore game was closer to our element.

Yeah I.love how it turned out, but I really wish Spoon woulda caught it. Mighta been a pick 6(wouldnt matter) and it woulda been cool to see the defense step up.

That whole last drive by the Saints I just knew we'd get a chance for a TO. Our D always steps up when it needs to and I knew we'd have a chance at one. I never believe a team will score on us until they do. So close. But it worked out anyway.

It was a rare occasion where Michael Thomas falls down breaking out of his route and don't think corner back was expecting a gift thrown right at him like that. If he catches that would have been an awful mistake by Thomas and woulda cost us the game even though we ended up on the losing end when all was said and done. No defense was stepping up that game lol. Offenses were on fire. I saw a star that when Drew Brees faces a number one defense he actually accels and plays extremely well. He just steps up in big games/moments. Us saints fans are truly blessed to have had him as our quarterback and I will shed tears when he decides to finally hang up the cleats.

In all honesty, TIME , and finishing the complete refurbishing of our 45 man squad. We have something like 43 players now we didn't have when Kyle and JL arrived. Our squad had Arik, Buckner, and Joe Staley. And Arik was still green as grass. Kyle /john lynch needed a full 3 drafts, FAs, and trades to completely rebuild our team. LUCK....as when out of the blue BB calls Lynch and says " you want garoppolo for your 2nd? Oh, and BB gave Lynch 30 minutes to decide because in 2 hrs JimmyG was going to become a FA and no compsensationf or JG. To their credit kyle and JL said yes...but kyle wasn't convinced til some time later. Jimmy watched a number of games but got in the last 5 and was just spectacular. Until that moment, kyle's Plan was for Cousins (MN)..the rest of the story is that these two guys are astute talent evaluators, and we have hit a number of terrific picks in rds 4 to 7, adding Kocurek for the DL and joe woods for DBs were Godsends.

But the thing that really was superb was that kyle is one of the games two best playcallers, and had done really well in a couple yrs at Cleve, Wash and ATL. When he came here he was seasoned and next to Sean,. One of the two best OCs on the planet.

Add all that together with 3 drafts drafting in top 3...you pickup some very good talent that way. Sure there were busts each yr but overall our guys have a nose for talent. Kyle plus the best QB you could ask for, hand picked and trained by BB, studied 3.4 yrs under Brady, and put those two together and you had a younger version of Sean/ drew.

No secrets there, just good , smart football sense. Some games, you can see kyle scheming to set up plays half a game later. Didn't show that in N.O as you guys were just too tough

Next yr will be interesting in that we will be picking in the N.O range, near end of draft. That is when it gets a lot harder. ]

No secrets there, just good solid football and great talent evaluation. Luck too, lik with Bosa. If it hadn't been for KLiff K new AZ coach and saying he wanted Kyler murray, we don't get Boas. So as noted, some luck too.

Yalls success and going deep into playoffs or even super bowl will definitely have y'all Drafting towards the end of the later rounds which will be the telling part for yalls organization and future success. It will be deciding factor if y'all will be good for 10+years or if y'all will just be really good for 2-3 years. I have faith though that if y'all keep whoever is evaluating players for yall and keeping yalls coaching staff y'all should be big good for a long time. NFC will be a dog fight for many years to come.
