Another factor in our favor for next week is we play of Saturday at home after a home game (no traveling). Rams are away this week (at DAL) and then have to turn around and travel again on a short week.

Whoever claims him is picking up his current contract so he can't refuse to sign per se.

The #Cardinals gave Terrell Suggs a $4 million signing bonus in March and owe him the rest of his $3M guaranteed salary if he's not claimed. Now, cut. Any team claiming Suggs would owe him only the prorated portion of that $3M salary for rest of 2019

He can refuse to play or choose retirement but any playoff hopeful team that claims him would likely add him to the reserve/retired list or reserve/left squad list in either case to prevent him from signing elsewhere.

It would not be smart move for a team to offer him a clear path to UFA and circumvent the rules in place.

Suggs is available. Would be a decent replacement for Ford who may never be healthy.

Heh, I'm betting Shanalynch is looking into it right now. If Suggs passes through waivers, I'm pretty sure the phone lines between him and Lynch is going to burn up.

We should still try. Maybe other teams will shy away due to age or contract.

Contract is not an issue.

And age probably doesn't scare teams either given it would be a short term rental and FA isn't going to offer you a better edge rusher.

I expect we will hear about multiple teams have put in a claim.

My guess, Eagles get Suggs, they probably the lowest team record wise still playing for something, don't see the Cowboys putting in a claim.

Still holding out hope he somehow falls to us even though its probably a slim chance

At least our offense is getting pretty healthy. Losing our center hurts though but hopefully not devastating.
