This. The future is never guaranteed. You gotta own the present and take advantage of what you have in front of you. Play like you might never be back in this situation again.

Yup. Maybe we make it next year, maybe we dont. Maybe we dont get back here for another 2 years. Other teams are getting better each year. We should be in win now mode.

Moronic take here.
Turning point was when Atlanta drove down on our so called defense and got a TD. That was pathetic.

BTW ... What ever happened to everyone's SUPER STAR (BUCKNER)???

I swear I haven't heard his name since he scored a TD against Seattle !!

He's done absolutely nothing

Could this have possibly been a vanilla game by Shanahan with 2 divisional games coming up? Putting formation and plays on film that he's going to come back and counter/gimmick out of over the next couple weeks? After seeing how creative this offense was last week there was nothing too flashy today including less motions used before the snap

Please stop.

One game at a time; we can still win the NFC West.

This, this is literally an any given Sunday league. Today was the Falcons any Sunday, but we also should've won if we had a better gameplan from our HC. We will rebound against the Rams and the offense will be just fine, the OL really has to be better. Jimmy has to be protected.

Even if it meant a loss? I mean maybe but your playing with seeding here.
Great teams don't lose at home twice and definitively not to the 4 and 9 Falcons. I don't have a lot of optimism for this team going forward. A defensive coordinator that never blitzes a statue in the pocket QB until you're beat. Sits back and let's 1 receiver catch 13 balls including the game winner. Plain and simple another game the coaching staff lost.

Of course the players and coaches should play to never expect to be back. However, stepping back as a fan the window should be open for a few years. Great HC mind, solid young QB, good playmakers on offense and defense. That usually keeps teams in the conversation for several years.

Please. While I totally agree about seizing the moment I feel like the window is just opening for the Niners and the front office is showing discipline with their contracts and signings, we should be in it for some time barring a catastrophic injury to someone like Jimmy or Bosa.

Disgusting finish, still not over it. Completely blew golden opportunities to win this game.

Yeah this was rough. Seattle game had me a little pissed. Ravens didn't really care, that was almost impossible. But this is going to sting for awhile.

Ah, don't worry, you'll be over it by Wednesday.
It's been so long that a loss really ripped my heart out, well since Superbowl loss. I don't know how long it's takes to get over it anymore. Hope it is Wednesday.

So, what call would you have made at that moment?

I WOULD HAVE ----

called all running plays and force Atlanta to use their T/O early and often... we had two plays to get the 1st down, IF we can't get the 1st down, then be it... YOU would think that he'd learn from the Seattle and Baltimore game by giving THEM the last drive...

PLUS, knowing that we may come out FLAT, then allow the OL to take over the game and make this a BORING 9-3 type of game...

He came from Atlanta, he knows about Matt & Julio, and we are hurting HALF WAY w/our DBs... and you try to OUT SHOOT a team w/nothing to play for??

i'm confused, if kittle doesn't fumble we run out the clock and win the game. Kittle fumbled but still stayed inbounds so they had to still waste a time out. We gave him 1 buck and 53 with 1 timeout left. Which part of the game are you questioning the calls of the game.
