Shannahan for the most part is a great O Coordinator but he needs to get someone to help him out. He isnt capable of being a head coach and O-Co.

He's 11-3 and all three losses were at the last second.

I need a vacation from the WZ.
Fn laughable

Great teams don't lose at home twice and definitively not to the 4 and 9 Falcons. I don't have a lot of optimism for this team going forward. A defensive coordinator that never blitzes a statue in the pocket QB until you're beat. Sits back and let's 1 receiver catch 13 balls including the game winner. Plain and simple another game the coaching staff lost.

+1000. They also played off Julio 15 yards. Easy game of catch all day. We didn't even get into his field of vision.

If we lose in the first round, it'll be devastating being the success we've had this season from last year. Isnt even a guarantee some key guys arent back next year. I honestly feel like this year might be our best shot. Lynch should sign some key guys for depth.

This. The future is never guaranteed. You gotta own the present and take advantage of what you have in front of you. Play like you might never be back in this situation again.

Yup. Maybe we make it next year, maybe we dont. Maybe we dont get back here for another 2 years. Other teams are getting better each year. We should be in win now mode.

The sports landscape is littered with teams who had a chance and never got it done. I admit it, I'm jaded. Because of the Sacramento kings. Downhill since 2002 and we are now in a 14 year playoff drought. The A's have been cursed since Giambi didn't slide against the Yankees. Now we can't get out of the one game playoff. I hope the 9ers take care of business this year. This is their year.

Please. While I totally agree about seizing the moment I feel like the window is just opening for the Niners and the front office is showing discipline with their contracts and signings, we should be in it for some time barring a catastrophic injury to someone like Jimmy or Bosa.

windows shut just as fast as they open, maybe even faster

So many negative people here, sheesh.

1988 SB champion 49ers lost 4 games at home, including to a 5-11 Falcons team.

BTW ... What ever happened to everyone's SUPER STAR (BUCKNER)???

I swear I haven't heard his name since he scored a TD against Seattle !!

He's done absolutely nothing

Not sure if he is playing hurt but he hasn't done s**t in a while
I even said before the game, Atlanta is dangerous. Their season is dead but they have nothing to lose. That's a tough game. Add the volume of injuries the 49ers have and we lost a close one. The season isn't over. Last week the rams were amazing, Dallas was a joke and Seattle was over rated. Now it's flipped. One game at a time. It's cliche but in this league it's never been truer.
gonna take me a while to get over this one

As a Lakers fan, I apologize for them beating the Kings into non-existence. That is rough.

our whole dline was s**t, only guy that got a legitimate sack was sheldon day I think. Bosa's sack was like a solly thomas sack, just a freebie..

Kings also let their top talent on the team leave town. 49ers shouldn't be doing that re: Jimmy G/Bosa/Kittle/etc.

"The NFL stands for not for long if you play like that" - think it was Jerry Glanville.

This team isn't quite championship caliber, but we are a legit playoff team. We can learn from this. The good news is no devastating injuries i heard of.

Was there a Street sighting on the D line ?

Pathetic performance. Losing to a 4-win team is inexcusable. Shanahan doesn't know how to prepare the team. He shouldn't have told the team they are big time. We haven't done jack yet, this is only our first winning season. He let the players get to their heads. This is an embarrassing loss, there is just no other way to say it.

This!

The announcers mentioned it... Shanahan isnt afraid of talking playoffs. An NFL coach is looking 3 games ahead during a trap game week. I love Shanny but he did this team and game no favors. Conventional wisdom says to do one thing, he usually does the opposite. 11-2-1 vs 10-2-1 looks allot different now thats its 11-3 vs 11-3 and seattle owning the tie breaker... but keep on calling those pass plays.

No doubt. Plus, right now we need to be peaking to assert our dominance on teams instead of petering out after a big win like some mentally soft team.
When Mostert was in the game the offense ran smoothly. He's a great blocker and pass protector. Shanahan's love for Coleman and insistence on using Mostert as little as possible disrupts the rhythm and chemistry of the offense but he simply doesn't seem to understand. Very sad.
