Coleman carried it 4 times today for 40 yards. He wasn't the issue. Now Breida on the other hand...

... WHICH by the way was another stupid call... I don't understand the BEAUTY of his play calling anymore... it only looks good when it doesn't count, but when we have to get a drive going, he FAILS !!!

So, what call would you have made at that moment?

I WOULD HAVE ----

called all running plays and force Atlanta to use their T/O early and often... we had two plays to get the 1st down, IF we can't get the 1st down, then be it... YOU would think that he'd learn from the Seattle and Baltimore game by giving THEM the last drive...

PLUS, knowing that we may come out FLAT, then allow the OL to take over the game and make this a BORING 9-3 type of game...

He came from Atlanta, he knows about Matt & Julio, and we are hurting HALF WAY w/our DBs... and you try to OUT SHOOT a team w/nothing to play for??

i'm confused, if kittle doesn't fumble we run out the clock and win the game. Kittle fumbled but still stayed inbounds so they had to still waste a time out. We gave him 1 buck and 53 with 1 timeout left. Which part of the game are you questioning the calls of the game.

YES it was unfortunate that Kittle did fumble, but had we just ran the ball w/our last series on every downs, we would have used more time.. and had that been an incomplete pass, then the clock would have stopped...

Again, I would have run and run the ball even on 4th down...
To be honest guys, I was ranting so hard on here and the comments on Facebook after the SEATTLE loss... However, this game doesn't hurt me as bad for some reason. The team played their red/gold hearts out last week in New Orleans, and realistically, it was our superstar George Kittle's fault for trying to get Shady Mccoy on them when he could've just put the ball in his right armpit and used his strength and stayed in bounds to win... We CAN'T freak out and blame Kittle for that, I think it's a lesson that I would much rather him learn now than later this season... Whether that be in a couple weeks against Seattle or in the playoffs.

Search deep within, you will feel that the 49ers need to beat Seattle if we are going to make a true push this year. They beat us at home, we need to return the favor. And, if we do, this game nearly doesn't matter. I'm not as scared of a playoff game on the road against anyone else except SEATTLE. We can win the season, regardless of the outcome in the playoffs by beating Seattle this year at their home. And I think that momentum will carry us into the playoffs. But, if we lose against Seattle, even if we won this game, we would've been in rough waters anyway. Regardless the team is awesome and we should add another edge rusher in the offeseason... Next year will be awesome too.

This year, it's ALL ABOUT SEATTLE in 2 WEEKS. It's OUR 49ER SUPERBOWL before the playoffs.

This Falcon team dismantled the Saints in New Orleans. I don't know why the Niners did not start the game with the intent of not having Julio Jones beat them. The other receivers would've made plays but not to the point of beating you. Ryan is a stationary target and the pass rush couldn't get to him when it mattered most. If they win out they still have a #1 seed, right?

The refs helped us all day long. But IMHO on this one, his forward momentum was stopped and they should have blown the whistle.
Look at each week. Expected becomes a surprise. Rams slam birds then get blown out by Dallas?? The more I watch the more I have come to realize that each week it's anyone's game, any given Sunday. Yes we build expectations and stats are the new gospel of prediction. Fact is it's a human game and as such each game becomes a battle when it comes down to it. The point is those who are hungry and mentally determined to excel will. Love the Niners all my life that won't change. This weekend they didn't come to win they came to not lose. That is something I have seen for 40 years no matter the team. Come to dominate and win mentality and physically and you overcome. Yes we had a lot of player out but let's face it. We didn't come to win we came to not lose.
I know many will say this is wrong ect ect. But fact is this lose will give the team a perspective on it all that they needed to refocus and decide what they do down the stretch. Gut checks define a team. I for one am seeing this as what they needed. A wake up that nothing is given.. earn it by desiring it more than obstacles in your way.

Nah. If we going to lose one of the last three, Id rather lose to ATL then come back with a vengeance against LA and Seattle. Would be worse to lose to either of them.

I think the team comes out intense next week, setting up the ultimate showdown in Seattle week 17 !

He wasn't what he looked.like for the last 2 weeks. He really wasn't running well either , offense was inconsistent with him just as much as Breida or Coleman

Even if it's a #2 seed we play for in Seattle, that, is the game we must win. We cannot be the reason the Seahawks clinch homefield and make us go through them after losing to them 2x. That game is everything... Sure, we can still beat them in the playoffs but I have the feeling we need to beat them in two weeks!

Love the optimism but I'm more worried about the Rams game right now...and if we'll "really" have our horses back for the playoffs. No matter where we play as the 5th seed (no off week).

Sorry but we're in dire need of a competent interior olineman.

Mostert's agent? Are you a surfer too? I haven't checked the stats but it seems like Mostert was always on the field, including special teams. Maybe you wanted him on defense too?
How do you come out that flat and lose to the Falcons at home with the #1 seed, home field advantage and a playoff bye in play? Just incredible. Wow.

The result of that Kittle fumble was the same as a running play. Kittle recovered the ball inbounds and forced ATL to called their second timeout to stop the clock. So even if you ran the ball at that moment, ATL was going to call a timeout to stop the clock, so your point is useless.
Off the topic of what this means for the season overall (isn't too bad IMO if we can win the next 2). I have a slight worry that our Center going out last week was huge... I didnt get to watch the game as well as I normally do due to work, but as I watched on my phone, I could see a lot of pressure coming up the middle, even on runs. The mostern run to the outside left probably was a TD or close to it, but the center of the line got bulled over. Also, I ntoiced that they slid their protection to double the center area... Maybe I was paying attention to it more than I normally due because of the injury but did anyone else notice this?
