The sports landscape is littered with teams who had a chance and never got it done. I admit it, I'm jaded. Because of the Sacramento kings. Downhill since 2002 and we are now in a 14 year playoff drought. The A's have been cursed since Giambi didn't slide against the Yankees. Now we can't get out of the one game playoff. I hope the 9ers take care of business this year. This is their year.
As a Lakers fan, I apologize for them beating the Kings into non-existence. That is rough.
Kings also let their top talent on the team leave town. 49ers shouldn't be doing that re: Jimmy G/Bosa/Kittle/etc.
Lol no they didn't
Everyone was gone after 2004-2005 season. Do you see 49ers letting Jimmy G, Bosa and Kittle leaving after the 2022 season? Not likely.
Different sports, but not an exact comparison, but still. Keeping the core players goes a long way to having a shot every year.
I'm not going to debate you on something you know nothing about. Their cute got old. That's what's happened, not them letting them leave
Splitting hairs over terminology. Kings situation matched Harbaugh Niners more re: age of core players, sure.
Point is that the key players here are young. Shanny and his core guys should be here for a while. They will always try to win every game of course, regardless, but if they don't win the SB this year the window isn't closed immediately.
No guarantee they win a SB in the next five years either, but the window should be about that long. The very good HC-QB-EDGE combo wins a lot of games in the 21st Century NFL.
