This!!! But I still want to puke. After last weeks high, this low is pretty low..

Nothing wrong with that. Imo the injuries to key starters and playing three highly emotional, consecutive games against the NFL's best finally caught up with the team.

I agree with this. Adrenalin overload 3 consecutive weeks then the come down from the clouds to play a team not in the playoff hunt. Say what you like but there is no way the boys where going to lift a fourth time. Plus injuries to key players. This game was just a bridge to far. Subconsciously they probably hoped they'd sneak this one in at a lower gear but didn't happen. Focus will return now. Have to beat the squawks in 2 weeks. Another barnburner coming up.

If we had won, we'd be one game up on Seattle.

Guess what? We'd STILL have to win Week 17. Otherwise Seattle would have the tiebreaker.

Because we lost, we are now tied with Seattle.

Which means... you guessed it! STILL have to win Week 17!

Things COULD change if we lose to the Rams and Seattle beats the Cardinals and a bunch of other things happen. But it's likely, either way, that we are in a position where we have to win Week 17 to win the division. This was true before, during and after today's game, regardless of if we had stopped Jones at the 1-yard line or allowed him to score the game-winning TD.

Kyle threw this game. He's playing the long game. He ran a pre-season offense; like he doesn't want to put anything on film unless absolutely necessary. Rested guys that could've played too. I'm sure he thought he could've won, but this game literally means nothing. We STILL have to beat Seattle at the end. IF Seattle had lost to Carolina we might've seen a different playbook.

Now the next 2 games are a must win. I hope having their backs against the wall ups the level of play/coaching.

I know tin foil hat theory, but we've seen Belichick throw a game before to eliminate certain opponents from the playoffs.

Finally someone gets it! Great post.

Vanilla offense and defense. Single coverage vs Julio all game was a dead giveaway. Kyle picks and chooses who to open up the playbook against. Getting tie breakers over the packers and saints was important, so we saw all the bells and whistles. I'm not saying he's right, it's just a pattern I've noticed this season. This guy obsessively selfs scouts and wants to break all his tendencies.

I bet his thinking was if we can beat the falcons with a vanilla game plan, great. If we lose it literally changes nothing. With Seattle beating Carolina we HAVE to win the last 2 games. This game was pretty meaningless actually. If by showing less of our playbook on film means we beat Seattle I'll hold this L no problem.

Yep agreed. Obviously he didn't lose on purpose (need that disclaimer for some lol), but I saw the same thing. No adjustments whatsoever. Players not having that normal level of effort. Looked just like a preseason game to me.

Man that actually made me feel better reading that. Don't know if true but I'm running with it. Appreciate that brotha 🤙

Lol what? Teams already know what he does on offense. I believe he went more vanilla, but teams have film on his offense from the first 15 games of the season. So him hiding something for this game doesn't mean jack, especially when playing the last 2 games against division opponents who already know what his offense is. Your theory doesn't make much sense

Kyle also is always creating plays. There are things we haven't seen- the plays against the Saints for example. Clearly there are times where the creativity is on full display and other times it isn't. I won't say he threw the game, but he didn't appear to go all out to win.

Looking at the Kittle fumble again, it doesn't appear it was a gimme he would have got the first down. I thought four sure he had it and felt that was the turning point of the game.

That defensive back was not going to stop him from falling forward 2-yards.
Not going for it on 4th down was about as bad as I've seen in a while.

D is banged up and just let up a TD. Get the first and the game is over. You had two downs to get 4 yards.
Caught bits and pieces, but I'm not as down about this loss as some of y'all. Coming off one of the toughest three game stretches in NFL history and losing key players in every game definitely took it's toll.

Atlanta and Matt Ryan always seems to have success against us through the air for some reason. We were down 24-3 in the NFC-CG and it took a miracle from Bowman to save us in the 'stick. It looked like they had a good game plan against us. I'm not a fan how on 3rd and mid-range downs our corners play off the receivers and allow them to run clean slants and outs. I believe you have to trust your pass rush to get in the quarterbacks face to where a double move wouldn't work.

Overall, we just need to get healthy, but unfortunately the schedule is still rough and we're still in the gauntlet. The guys are running on fumes and I hope they can finish strong, rest up and get ready for the playoffs.
The amount of Kyle hate I'm seeing all over the place is just wild....

"he can't finish games" "he's BAD late in games" what the f**k is everyone talking about? It's like they can't accept that any team can lose a game in this league?? It's like they'd prefer to get beat down vs lose on last sec plays. It's football one tipped pass, one fumble, one drop, one missed XP can change a game AND that's exactly what happened yesterday.

The players said it, they didn't have the juice this game. It was sluggish out there. They hadn't been home in two weeks (stayed out east). They just went through a gauntlet of opponents and are dealing with a ton of injuries.

The defense has more backups than starters out there yesterday. They played a team that KNOWS Kyle's offense and runs the same defense. Hats off to ATL they played their butts off knowing they have nothing to lose.

Guess what? this team went from 4-12 and are currently 11-3! WE'RE IN THE PLAYOFFS and still control our destiny to regain the #1 seed.

WIN OUT...plain and simple.
If only we could figure out what the game plan was on offense and defense.

Now we have a mad Rams team that needs to win out as well to have any hope. This was a bad loss for us. Boys better rest up and be ready. Sure hope Sherman and Williams are playing.

Who says the Niners arent mad as well. This loss was as bad as the Rams to Jerry Jones.

What purpose would it serve to play the game like a preseason game?

OR they have a pissed off SF team that just lost.

Rams need a ton of s**t to go their way to make the playoffs at this pt. Vikings have two home games and haven't lost their yet
I love Kittle as much as the next guy, but the reason we lost is because we weren't even attempting to get other people involved. The falcons only needed to cover one guy.

Yes, Kyle "threw this game"
It all makes sense now

Wtf

Kyle seems to get his game plan stuck in his head some games and refuses to help his QB out by not benching Staley... McGlinch struggled but not quite as bad, and by not calling some plays to slow down the pass rush. He did a wonderful job at the beginning casting confusion in the running game against the Panthers and other teams but doesn't seem to adjust at times when the team needs him to most.
And Kyle is the HC... he needs to tell Saleh that Julio can still catch and run when you let him, because Saleh still didn't seem to figure that out after 60 mins of football. Saleh missed a pathetic game while he was napping yesterday.
