He jinxed us.

Damn you Bumgarner.

He signed after the team loss. But sure.

We outclassed the Rams last time, and now Goff has a hand injury. Plus the 7-7 Cowboys just throttled them. Its not going to be easy, but this should still be a win.

Did we not say the same about the Falcons?

Obviously I hope you're right. And then crush Seattle up there.

We clearly overlooked Atlanta. Despite what the coaches were saying and the players were saying we definitely thought we could coast and get it done.

I thought it was a bad sign that Sherman was basically saying he could play if "needed"

Sad thing is we still should've won this game if a handful of things go differently so maybe we didn't really need him but that comment was pretty telling in how we viewed the game and as a result we played the way we did.

Shanahan stressed a ton beforehand about how good ATL was playing lately, how they crushed a Saints team we struggled to beat, and that this was their SB and our SB since it was a playoff clincher. Plus this is his former team.

Theres no way we overlooked this team. Kyle has never let that happen. We crushed most every weak opponent we played this year. If we weren't overlooking them, we weren't going to start now.

ATL is just a good team that had a terrible first half. They beat us. Were also very injured, and haven't had a week off in 11 weeks now. Just accept that we lost playing short handed to a good team and move on.

Stressing that is one thing...actually believing it is another thing.

I think the fact that Sherman said he'd play if needed certainly points to while the words claimed we were all in on this game...actions like that spoke otherwise. How flat we played, spoke otherwise.

Hopefully this loss will be a blessing in disguise for this team and we right the ship against a dangerous opponent in the Rams and then exercise our demons in Seattle and take the division from them in their house.

Lol he aint a Giants regardless. Take your baseball bs to the other thread.

Back to the Niners.
btw is there a reason we don't have a Rams thread yet since the game is Saturday?

I was just looking over their status and holy crap they've been lucky in terms of injuries. We nearly have double their total injury list just on IR. Must be nice to stay that healthy.
That game just really sucked for the whole team. It was definitely a team loss. Can we pull our boots straps up and win the last two. I hope so. But that game definitely put doubts in my head that we have enough left in the tank for that to happen. Everyone on the team needs to take blame and learn from this. Or most likely we are a one and done playoff team. Which breaks my faithful heart. I haven't wrote anything bad about this team all year. So me being critical now is all based on that Falcons loss. Right or wrong it's just how I feel at this moment. For the love of God I hope I'm miserably wrong.
I'm curious to see who is going to be healthy enough to play Saturday... if we still have the same guys out, I don't know if the 49ers pull off the win

I'm hoping at least KW is back.

I think E-man and Spoon can hold up without Sherman when not playing against Julio Jones but I don't trust DJ Reed at all right now. I could totally be short changing him out of frustration but from what I recall the only pass he broke up yesterday was the pick Fred Warner would've had.

I couldn't NinerTalk yesterday. Knew it would be aggravating reading about the loss. In a nutshell, this game is on the offense imo. ATL defense is not good and they lost their best CB. There were multiple dropbacks where Jimmy couldn't or wouldn't pull the trigger. Deebo and Sanders couldn't get open? Jimmy suddenly got gun shy? I'm very curious what he was seeing on those plays.

Make the Rams thread so we can move on from this disaster.

But yeah...I'm curious why we were a one man show yesterday. Jimmy definitely missed a couple of throws but I was shocked that nobody else was getting involved. Not sure what was more shocking...that the Falcons refused to take Kittle out of the game or that we refused to go to other targets...though if George doesn't drop the ball on that last drive we escape with the W.

It sucks to lose but it was always going to come down to week 17 @ Seattle.

We had no major injuries in this game. That was actually more important than winning if you ask me.

Agreed, it was a potential trap game that lived up to it and the injuries in the secondary made it worse. Seems like the team needs a shot in the arm like this late in the season to get them back on track so hopefully they're a little more humble and ready to take care of the Rams. That said, I don't have much confidence in their chances in Seattle just b/c of the injuries and the Seahaks being very good at closing out important games when it matters. Carroll rolled JH in the same way.

Like I said...we have to worry about the Rams first.

Seattle to me is an extracted horse shoe away from disintegrating.

I think even with our injuries our team is better than Seattle. They have been incredibly lucky this year, including our game. Running into us with Kittle out, Sanders getting hurt early. OL getting Clowned and the mass drops and a backup kicker missing the game winner in OT.

Playing in Seattle has been a horror show for us in recent years but Seattle has their own injuries to deal with. Assuming we beat LA we'll have an extra day to rest up and get out there to win the division.

Clowney has been dealing with a hernia, Diggs and Wagner just hurt their ankles. Wagner seems to be fine but who knows how they look week 17. As long as we don't suffer any further injuries vs LA I like our chances to go up there and win.

Yep, but it shouldn't have come down to the Kittle drop. KS allowed the Falcons to hang around all game and we know what happens too many times in those situations and it happened again yesterday. I haven't seen a 49er HC since Walsh and maybe Seifert who had the killer instinct to put teams away early the way they did. JH was infamous for being perfectly content with over-relying on Fangio's defense and eeking out squeakers week in and week out. KS also seems to utilize a "play not to lose" philosophy but that is not going to work long term and going to lead to more stress and aggravation for the players and CS. Once they dump Pettis, Goodwin and Taylor(?) I would hope they go out and solidify their WR core because a TE should not be the #1 WR on a team. At 32 y/o I'm not sure Sanders has enough left in the tank to be a consistent #1 and I think he lacks the size as well. JH's lack of experience also plays a role although I was pleased to seem him start evading pressure better and throwing the ball away. One thing I noticed yesterday is that even though J. Jones is past his prime his huge size allows him to play up, over and around smaller DBs who look like dwarfs next to him.
