Very interested to see the all 22 breakdown. Offense was way too focused on passing it to Kittle all game long, which worked for most of the game. Were our WRs covered up most of the game? Was Jimmy just not seeing them? I know they had some drops, but can't just focus in on one receiver and expect to make it long in the playoffs.

This loss makes the last two games pointless because they can't beat Seattle. Rest the players, take the two Ls, back into the playoffs and hope for a miracle series of road wins.
Let's hope the team doesn't have such a loser mentality. Wasnt too long ago haters were crying about us winning in Seattle with Mullens as our QB.

Don't be mad, Kyle S made it so the game was a gift to the Falcon's HC. Watch the hugs and "kisses" (whispers of affections) LOL after the game.

I don't think the Falcons did anything special yesterday. We got caught with our pants down plain and simple. Entire team, especially the coaches, laid a goose egg.

Today's game had zero effect on home field advantage.
???????????????????????????????????????????. Now forced to win in Seattle with no center and now a maybe above average defense and a world championship coach and qb who have turned it on. Very happy to win 11 games for sure. So close only to be decimated by injury again. Not going to win another game this year with that French vanilla O and or the qb not showing up.
We would have had to win in Seattle anyway to get home field advantage.

I am pretty sure this game can be a factor in home field advantage.
Even if we had won, we would still have had to win in Seattle because of their win yesterday versus Carolina (that was before our game). I guarantee that had Seattle lost to Carolina, Shanahan would have exposed the play book more and tried harder for the win yesterday.
Regardless, they still would have had to win next week versus the Rams.
So since Seattle won yesterday, the Niners must win in Seattle to get home field and the division. Losing or winning yesterday did not change that fact. Hence why they played it like a pre-season game.

Now this is simply a ridiculous post. We smacked the Rams the first time on the road, playing them at home (with them having nothing to play for) should be an easier game. Seattle beat us without Kittle and Sanders, and only because we missed a field goal. We can absolutely beat them, anywhere, including in Seattle.
Everyone needs to calm down. We still control our destiny; win the next two games and we're the number 1 seed. But hell even if not that means a playoff game versus Dallas or Philadelphia. Either one a very winnable game.
Before this season, if someone would have told me that in the last two weeks we'd have a playoff spot locked up and a chance at the #1 seed and a first round bye, I'd have laughed. But that's where we are. It's a long season and there's still a lot of football left.

The poster only shows up when the team loses, so I wouldnt take him seriously.

Since only week 17 matters, I suppose Kyle will not try to win this Saturday. The Rams game doesn't count any more or less than the Falcons game so it must not be a factor in HFA.
If Shanahan didn'y try to win yesterday he is a terrible head coach.

Why does only week 17 matter? Don't we want a bye week?

I didn't say only week 17 matters. Week 16 could possibly matter, if both the Packers and Saints win as well. Since we're playing on Saturday, we need to do whatever it takes to win.
And I didn't say Shanahan didn't try to win. They try to win preseason games too.

Neither I nor anyone said that week 17 doesn't matter. It might, and since we play on Saturday we have to play the game like it does.

I did a quick run through of the 49er pass plays and my initial observation is that ATL did a good job of covering the middle of the field to take away Jimmy's first read, which in this offense is often over the middle of the field. I've watched enough of Deebo to know that all he catches are slants, digs, and crossing patterns - all routes that break inside. ATL seemed conscious of this and on the plays where Jimmy hit the back of his drop and couldn't didn't find a target, it was either because ATL clogged the short/intermediate middle of the field, and/or cheated on in-breaking routes. More often than not, 49ers pass protection was not good enough to allow Jimmy to go through his progressions.
There were a few plays where the 49ers used playaction and only sent out 2 routes. ATL LBs didn't bite hard on the playaction and was able to get into the passing lanes.
