Are we better this year or next year?

With the obvious and maybe not so obvious roster moves coming up this offseason, what are the chances we could be better next year?

Obviously injuries play a part, but my opinion for the last few weeks has been if we don't solidify our offensive line while maintaining the core of our defensive roster that we may have peaked this year.

To me our O line has been the lost obvious weak link on our roster. Do you agree? If so, can we fix it in one offseason?

Every season is different. We could be good next year or go back to drafting in the top 10 again.
I think we might be a better team, with a worse record next year. I think the league will catch up to us more after another offseason.

It's real possible we will have a worse record next year. That's why you need to take advantage of these opportunities when they come. Nothing is guaranteed. I doubt we go half a season undefeated. That's rare.
Yeah, look at how dominant the bears D was last season. first round bounce out and this year they look average at best.
If our dline can stay intact and healthy we are a perennial 10 win team. Having two great ends and Jones in the center is critical

If they can fix the issues on the O-line then the offense will be better.

Defense may take a step back next year, but would still likely be top 10.

I think it's encouraging how Lynch and Shanahan are running the team, pretty much the opposite of the Rams "win now no matter the cost" mentality. They want sustained success.
Next year. Jimmy will have had one full season with this playbook.
We will have a tougher schedule next year.
Team is inexperienced this year and it's starting to show. So I'll go with next year!
Who cares about that right now. Win the super bowl this year

Injuries are killing us. Next year I trust Lynch, Peters etc to use those late picks to improve the depth. So I vote for next year. It's a young roster this year.
We have to win this year. There are too many tough decisions and financial bombshells coming -- Armstead, Ward, Buckner, Kittle, Sanders, Sherman, Witherspoon, Ford. This coming year, we only have a first, two fifths, a sixth, and two sevenths in the draft. We will absolutely get people back like Kwon, DJ, Jalen, etc., but every year is going to have more people to the IR. Jimmy will probably get better, but he'll probably not ever really be able to truly carry bad players around him like a la Brady, Manning, etc. We just realistically will not have a group this talented again at once, assuming we don't hit a home run on every draft pick and FA signing. The time is now.

Let's get back on track this year and win it this season...then hope the roster and injury issues improve next year and we keep wining for a while.

Unfortunately the way the NFL is every season is so different. I think we have the right young players to keep things in the right direction but you never know.

Have to strike while the iron is hot. But I can't help but imagine if we had Trent Taylor, Jalen Hurd out there on offense and a healthy secondary, Kwon Alexander, DJ Jones and Dee Ford we'd be well on the way.
