Okay serious question. If injuries rear their ugly head again on Saturday and we lose and Seattle wins Sunday that locks us into the 5th seed. It doesn't matter what happens week we are @4th seed.

Would you then rest starters Week 17. I would prefer us say F-it, lets create our own bye week before a 4 week Super Bowl run.

winner Green Bay or Minnesota this week game it will can flip 9ers seeding maybe must

Goff is hurt injury hand. many pressure will keep himp contain. 49ers are to be the victory.

Gould isn't as bad as his stats. He's only made 70% of his FG attempts (he missed 8) but 5 of those misses were early in the season when we had a different long snapper and different holder. The timing and ball placement were off and he also wasn't 100% healthy. He's been better lately. I know he missed an extra point last week but he's 6th in the league at 97% on XP's.

This may sound crazy but I fear Dallas more than any other NFC team except NO. They have so much talent but just not playing up to their talent level. If we wind up in the Wild Card game against them, it might not end well. Me no likey Dallas.

If we're fully healthy, we shouldn't fear anybody.

We need that bye in the worst way. Plus, do you want to face NO or SEA on the road or at home? You always play for the bye and the home field.

Or you can start Mullens and depth this week (short week). We beat L.A. last year with them. It all comes down to week 17 anyhow. If it matters, then Sherman, Wiiliams, Tartt, maybe Ford and more are fully healthy for that game. If it doesn't matter, that's an extra week to rest them and go crush Dallas/Philly at full strength and extra time for Kyle Shanahan to game plan and 2 weeks of game experience for your backups just in case.

Kyle wouldn't do that. And I'm not saying he should. BUT, if we play the Rams and Hawks with full intensity like we did against the Saints, don't be surprised if we lose several more key starters along the way and still possibly lose out on #1 anyway.

This team is built on defense, pass rush, running the ball and 3rd down efficiency --- a formula you can travel anywhere with, hence a better away record than home right now.

That makes no sense. The 1 seed makes the Super Bowl 53% of the time. Only 10 WC teams have made the Super Bowl in 40 years.

Resting for 2 weeks, purposefully making yourself rusty, just to need to win 3 road games to make the SB is a terrible idea. You dont play scared to get hurt. You play your best and whatever happens, happens.

If only we were...I think if we didn't have our usual injury cluster fuk the only game we may lose at this point is Baltimore and it's possible with Ford, Kwon and healthy Tartt we still walk away from that game with a W.

Unfortunately we have to weather the storm and it starts by beating LA this saturday then exercising our demons in Seattle and sending Rusty and Pete on the road while we sit back and heal up for our games.

Exactly! Hence my Madden-like proposition above. That ensures you're fully healthy going into week 17 or WC weekend...just for fun. Mostly because we know we're going to play hard and as a result, we're going to lose more starters going into the playoffs and STILL not be guaranteed to wrap up the #1.
Dude I stood up for Buzz so many times. I look stupid now

As a competitor, I agree. As a traditionalist, I agree. As a strategist, remember this proposition and let's revisit this in two weeks.
