Only an alternate

Way to miss the point entirely.

Why laugh? Only as an alternate and kid had a great year. Who got snubbed that's better?
I bet even Staley laughed when he found out he was an alternate. He's played in 5 games this year...

The players and coaches are actually a terrible group to give 2/3 of the vote. If they dont play an opposing team that year, they aren't going to have any idea how good anyone else is this season. Even still, they see each team once or twice. They aren't paying attention to who deserves it. It should be a 50/50 vote between the fans and the AP writers.
Its the only game you never want to play in because it means you are not in the super bowl.
With some luck health-wise none of these guys will have to play in the Pro-Bowl.

Will be announced today at 5 pm PST.

We had 6 players win the fan voting at their positions (Bosa, Armstead, Sherman, Juszczyk, Kittle, and Mostert for ST), but the other 2/3 of the votes will be determined by the players and coaches.

Im hoping Jimmy Garoppolo sneaks in as an alternate and injury replacement...

Edit:

Four 49ers made the Pro Bowl, with 8 more being alternates. Weak.

Nick Bosa (1st)
Richard Sherman (5th)
George Kittle (2nd)
Kyle Juszczyk (4th)

Alternates are:

Jimmy Garoppolo
Weston Richburg
Raheem Mostert (snubbed)
Joe Staley
Fred Warner
DeForest Buckner
Arik Armstead
Jimmie Ward

The fans got it more right than the players/coaches. SMH.

Way to go all the s**t for brains voting on the pro bowl, Armstead warner Mostert and Defo all should've been voted straight up into the actual team.
Staley

There's no way that Jimmy makes it. The NFC has Rodgers, Wilson, Brees, Prescott, and Cousins who all have had statistically better years, and the narrative around the league has been the Jimmy was the weakest link. Now, I'd say that after Rodgers and Brees, Garoppolo has had probably the 3rd or 4th best year, but I doubt the voters will look at it that way.

I think Warner will get some Pro Bowl consideration though.

I think it could be argued that Warner was the best player on the D this year.

Warner has definitely been most consistent. Bummed he didn't get the starting nod. Guy has been rock solid two years in a row and a leader this year. Underrated.
I thought Warner's performance last year ranged from solid to good. He's definitely impressed and raised the bar this year and had consistently played at a very high level.

I hope none of them make it so their contracts stay as low as possible.

Why? You think jed is gonna give you the savings.

That would be nice, but no, I like the idea of cap room to spend on keeping and getting quality players.

Mostert has been playing a lot more RB lately. And correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think he's been as big of a part of special teams as previous years .

Too bad Armstead couldn't take Fletcher Cox's spot. Maybe next year.

He's still our star gunner. The fact that he also adds value elsewhere makes it even more of a snub IMHO.

The fans voted Armstead on to the team, but the players/coaches vote knocked him out.

LOL Ravens got 12 pro bowlers, and we get 4. Such BS.

lmfao

LOL Wow really?

basically the same record. difference is they have Lamar Jackson.

Maybe the NFC Is more stacked? either way, 4 compared to 12 is turrible.
