SF 49ERS @ SEA SEAHAWKS PREGAME THREAD - 2019 Season Week 17

Chandler Jones has 19 sacks this year ( he had 3 plus 2 forced fumbles) on Sunday against the Seahawks. You telling me that the Cards have a better D line than we do. Jones is special but we should be able to get pressure with Bosa, AA and Buckner.

"Pressure" has never been the issue. We were always tops in pressures every year. Closing has always been our issue. We have a full cast of bigger DT/DE's. Ford is what helps it all close.

We may also get our own Jones back for this game, DJ. He's a difference maker in the middle.

One thing that caught my eye was how very little help they gave their backup Left Tackle against Chandler Jones.

Seeing that it took Saleh an entire half to adjust to the rollouts with Goff it may not be that simple.

Some #s from the 1st game

Carson 25 carries for 89 rush yards (not a great game but just enough to keep us honest; I don't see Lynch or any back off the streets dropping 90 yards on us)
Seattle D - 5 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries (one for a TD) and one INT

Niners 3 headed rushing attack (25 combined carries for 86 rush yards)
Niners D - 5 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries (1 for a td) and one INT

Wilson 24/34 - 232 yards, 1 td and 1 int
Jimmy 24/46 - 248 yards, 1 td and 1 int

Very close game..every so slightly Seattle outplayed us thus they won the game. Niners won the turnover battle actually. So what was the difference based on the above that can be fixed? #1 After seeing what Drake did we better run the ball alot better this time #2 Jimmy had 22 incompletions (some were drops; by both teams lol) but that was a very inefficient night. We also missed a field goal and their kicker didn't miss on his attempts. Not totally accounted for is that Clowney dominated everyone in his path that night.

I don't see ALL of those things going wrong again for the Niners but I also don't think we are sacking Wilson 5x this time. All in all we have to fix the run game and/or Jimmy has to be better but BOTH cant be as bad as the first game. On the road this will be another close battle but aint it time the 49ers exercise their Seattle demons?????

the difference is that Clowney played the GAME OF HIS LIFE.

That will not happen again.

We didn't have Kittle or Sanders either.
If we can't beat a banged up Seahawks team then we don't belong in the playoffs. Period. If we can't beat them how far are we going to go playing all our games on the road? It's win or maybe next year.

I sure hope not. He wrecked the game.

Ah we weren't tops in pressures last yr lol. Blair and Marsh AA wasn't balling like this.

We aren't getting home as of late agreed (we need one more dude) BUT they're getting pressure with 4 still & that's a BIG difference compared to having to manufacture pressure.
The Seahawks always scare me at home. I don't care who they're missing. We're missing a lot of people too. The last several weeks, people continue to say "oh we're gonna CRUSH so and so" -- we got handled by a losing team and barely beat the Rams at home. I wish I was that confident, but this is another high pressure game that worries the crap out of me.

Seahawks will do everything in their power to avoid back to back home losses. We've got to come out with a great game plan and execute it brilliantly.

We need to get back to our bread and butter on offense. Run the ball and play action. Misdirection and keep em guessing. Against LA we came out the first 2 or 3 drives and started out in the shotgun on 1st down. As soon as we get under center and play our offense 5 plays and 75 yards later we score. We need to do that from the opening.

I really hope KS was hiding stuff to unleash for this game. If we come out with the mindset that we're gonna score each time we have the ball I dont think they'll be able too keep up. If we can out shoot the Saints we can beat the a banged up Hawks team, but only if we come out with some damn urgency.
AH CRAP. I got him and Jullian Taylor mixed up. If taylor can come back for this game that would be dope, but not as great as DJ.

Looking forward to seeing the Niners take on this challenge in another hostile environment. They responded well vs. the Saints and looking forward to seeing them do the same vs. the Seahawks.
Seahawks are scared AF and it's showing
