And I dont care about this one of the most accurate passers of all time and running qb crap. I care about Super Bowls. Period. He needed more of that all time accuracy in the playoffs instead of tbrowing costly picks and turnovers.

Joe had 3 picks in the 81 nfc title game.
Bu ezekial's logic, trent dilfer is a super bowl legend.
Yeah no offense to Ez, but what a garbage take.
Joe had 3 picks and won the game still with his arm. That was his first playoff run. Joe also had 11 TDs and 0 INTs in four SBs.
This is not a Joe vs Young argument. Young could not hold Joe's jockstrap.
It's not just about winning the SB....Trent Dilfer was a below average QB carried to a SB win by a defense. It's that Young UNDERPERFORMED in the postseason relative to the stellar regular seasons he was pumping out and made costly errors contributing to losses in playoff games that ended our season.
Young was great. But too bad he wasn't great far too often when he needed to be great....in postseason games. Too many scars during the 90s for 1 SB to take away. Young won that SB. He obv isn't Dilfer. Dilfer was trash. Young was a hall of famer....sadly one who more often than not made costly mistakes in the playoffs.
We can go year by year in the 90s and evaluate his performances in the postseason games where our season was ended time and time again. Let's watch those Dallas and GB games. THat one in 1992 Young was the weak link and if he played like in the regular season we are winning that game and the SB.
I have a love hate relationship with Young...could easily have seven Lombardis if he performed in the postseason like he did in the regular season. It's alright though....not everyone can be Joe Montana. Problem was, Steve Young was Joe Montana in the regular season and couldnt reproduce that in the postseason. So he was just a huge tease. It's because Steve was so great in the regular season that I am still so disappointed in the 1990s for only winning 1 SB when we could have had a couple more if he was equally as great when it mattered and seasons were on the line.
If Steve was only just a "good" qb in the regular season I would have far less criticism of his mistakes in the postseason. "Good" qbs are going to have bad games and make errors at times when going against the other elite teams you face in the playoffs. But Steve played like a great qb in the regular season...so great that if he matches that greatness in the postseason we win two or three SBs in the 1990s. But he didn't. Go back and watch the games start to finish.
