Neon Deion, "Wilson found a hole in the secondary..." and specifically mentioned the improvement after Spoon was replaced.
Sherm in his postgame mentioned Emon stepping up. He was more subtle in his critique of Spoon.
Just watched the game at lunch. Looks like Mosely didn't replace Spoon until that last possession and didn't really do any better than Spoon in covering Metcalf. Most of the incompletions thrown his way were due to inaccuracy from getting pressure on Wilson.
spoon actually had a few nice pass breakups

Niners should be favored heavily vs. Seattle, Philly or Minnesota.
Edit: He is now eligible to return any time since he's officially missed 8 games on IR.

#49ers reported only one injury from Sunday — Jimmie Ward's ankle, and he returned to the game. Kyle Shanahan reported nothing new today and said the hope is that Dee Ford (hamstring) and Jaquiski Tartt (rib) are back for the playoff opener.

Technically, he would only be able to return for the Super Bowl if we made it there. NFCCG would be an 8th game since Kwon's injury.
In 2018, the rule was slightly modified due to timing of team bye weeks so players are only eligible to return after their team has played eight games instead of after eight weeks.

maybe just have kwon suited up for the super bowl as inspiration

Last night was the 8th game he missed. He can come back at any time.
He was injured on 10/31 and went on IR shortly thereafter.
Since then the Niners have played in eight games.
Seattle, Cardinals, Packers, Ravens, Saints, Falcons, Rams, Seahawks

With less edge pressure has come more double teams inside.
One thing that was working in the first half of last night's game was the pre-snap threat of blitz pressure. It forced more one-on-one blocking by the Sea OL which resulted in more pressure. Why Saleh went away from that in the second half is
I'm not sure that is true. My issue is that Saleh kept doing the same thing when it was not working anymore. In other words, Saleh should have been able to adjust to another look, or series of looks, when it became obvious Wilson was figuring it out. He may have dropped a little bit in the 2nd half, and I have no way of reviewing it, but Saleh kept right on doing the same thing in the 2nd, IIRC. Saleh lacked a counter punch when they adjusted.

#49er Kyle Shanahan does not expect LB Kwon Alexander to return for the divisional round of playoffs but said there is a possibility that he could be available for the NFC Championship game if the team advances.
