So I took a look at the last draft class once again. FOUR names stuck out to me as major contributors to our success this year.
Nick Bosa #2
Deebo Samuel #36
Dre Greenlaw #148
Justin Skule #183
These four didn't just play, but they all contributed in ways that made us better and helped us win immediately, THIS YEAR. That's a pretty darn successful draft, is it not?

I think it's more than just good drafting. To me, it's the systen and foundation that's been laid since 2017. And the coaches got these guys up to speed to contribute and help ASAP.
When people marveled at how the Pats were able to plug in guys out of no where and not be a detriment on game day, I think we have some of that evident this year. This is on both offense and defense.
Somewhere along the way they've decided it's just as important to get quality backups as getting good starters. Guys that's willing to work their asses off for the next chance to be on the field.
Makes me wonder if what happened with Mullens last year kick started all that mentality from the backup guys too. Like they are only 1 injury away from being the guy on Sunday.

Bosa, Samuel and Greenlaw really look good to me. I'm very impressed with all of them. Even a guy like Greenlaw who was picked later. It's just obvious he is a gamer. He comes up in the most clutch moments in key games. More so than anything he is a Seahawk killer. You can never have enough of those guys. He plays his absolute best when we play the Seahawks and always makes a huge play. Bosa looks like he will be a star. Samuel is both a good WR and runner on sweeps and reverses. He is just good with the ball in his hands and tough to tackle. This draft really helped us a lot.

No doubt! All came up clutch at some point in a game.

Last time we won the super bowl, we were starting a rookie at OLB, that had been taken in the 6th round, he was fast but undersized, named Lee Woodall. Dre Greenlaw, Lee Woodall....
We also had a great rookie lineman, Bryant Young #97, like Nick Bosa, #97.
Let history repeat itself.

Premier edge rusher. Playmaker WR. Quality depth OL/LB, including Brunskill in this. Best tackling punter in the league. Grand slam draft.

Well you have to admit for the bulk of the season we were giving up close to 0 return yards. I don't know what the final number was but it was great for some time.
