Yeah it's unfortunate. I try to look at it as "in 2020" we are drafting 1 first rounder, Dee Ford, and Emanuel Sanders in the first four rounds, plus we're getting an additional mid-5th rounder.

I firmly believe they trade down.

I still can not believe that spent a 4th round pick on PUNTER! There could have been an argument made for a fantastic kicker but a punter...?!

That pick could have been used in so many different ways. Additionally, average punters can be found a lot easier in the later rounds, which makes this pick really bad!

I know that this has been discussed on many forums but I am still mad :(

Yup, said this all day long but everyone's myopic glasses tried to justify the pick. "Well the Patriots wanted him and took a punter in the next round, so it was a good pick". It's called Free-Agency. Just sign one.

If you just watched the PATS TEN game, you'd see what a great punter can do. While ours isn't at that level, the value of a punter that good is huge.

I think so too, unless a "gotta have it" player falls on their lap at pick number 32.

Are you referring to the Titans Punter that was undrafted? I'm not trying to suggest that Punters aren't People too. It is an important role, just don't agree with the pick in the 4th. Maybe if he becomes the greatest punter of all time...
Niners trying to justify him because the Patriots were rumored to get him; well if they had it still would be a bad pick on their part.
Difference between a drafted punter and undrafted punter is like 2 or 3 net yards on a season. What's the replacement value of that pick? Peters/Lynch have picked up Greenlaw, Kittle in late rounds. I would love to have seen what they could do with that 4th rounder.
Sorry I don't mean to impugn the amazing work our front office has done. To me it's a small blemish on a great draft.

People treat late round picks like gold. The bust rate on 4th round picks are astromicial. Therefore, if this team saw something special in Mitch and was willing to gamble a 4th, then so be it. It's just so happened that Mitch didn't have a good of a year that some people thought he would have, but if he was on the level of Andy Lee, then that's a well invested 4th round pick. Given this defense, field position is crucial.

Very true but I think he improves greatly. He's already had what?.....hardly any PR yardage

Wishnowsky finished all up No 7 punter in the league. Not a bad start for a rookie.

Pinion was ranked 32.

Not bad at all and we had no choice knowing Pinion was leaving. We couldn't overpay for him and Gould.
