49ers vs Vikings pregame thread - Divisional Round 2019

On the topic of beat writers, aside from Cohn who I just pretend doesn't exist...the one that ticked off this week was Scott Ostler's article: "Myth: 49ers fans can lift their team to victory Saturday." Why would a local beat writer essentially tell the local fan base, don't bother being loud because it really doesn't matter before the first home playoff game in years? It was an entire article of hyperbole while being dismissive of home teams having a .67 winning percentage at home during the playoffs. Lets look at it this way, if a politician won 67% to 33% that's a huge landslide. Very irritating click bait.

The rest of the guys are typically pretty good and at minimum, tolerable.

They need to keep the intensity for the whole game, both offense and defense. Playoff teams are too good if you lose momentum and giving a window. Every team in the playoffs are capable of taking it and get a win.

Absolutely correct! 49ers can not afford to give up ANY points particularly since they lack a deep passing game/threat that can put a TD on the board quickly. I realize that the long, sustained drives composed of running the ball before using the short/intermediate passing game is good but a quick deep TD strike would put them in a much better position and do wonders for our in-game hypertension.

Yeah...I mean, they only had 62 20+ yard plays this year.

Jimmy never threw that 70+ yarder to Kittle against GB nor did he connect with Sanders on that other 70+ yarder against NO. That was all an illusion.

I think Ostler is a humorist primarily, not a beat writer like a Matt Maiocco. I don't even think he does sports full time. He started at the Los Angeles Times, I know, and he is usually pretty funny (unlike Ray Ratto, who is a poor man's version of Ostler). Pay him no mind. Scream your ass off and help the team win tomorrow.

On the Cohn topic, he lost any shred of credibility he thought he had left with the 49er fanbase after the statement that he'd rather have Cousins than Jimmy Gangsta. That's all I'll say on the writers topic, most of them I can't stand.

Nor did drop a 46 yard dime on 3rd&16 against the Rams to Sanders, while his arm was hit, to set up the game winning field goal. All never happened.
